Great for beginning readers...
This is a great workbook for those just learning words. It covers 60 words and uses a variety of activities to make them more recognizable. My boys get bored easily when the same thing is used for every single letter. While some of the activities are used for different letters, it's mixed up enough that it keeps things more tolerable for them. The pages don't have a ton on each one, so it's especially great for those building up their attention spans. While I wouldn't call this a bright and colorful workbook, it does have enough colored illustrations to keep it interesting. Plus, there are 2 pages of stickers in the middle, which is still thrilling to most children.

Perfect for 3.5 to 5 Year Olds
We have a 3 and a 5 year old, and introduced this book to our older kiddo when she was starting kindergarten this fall. The book is brightly colored, has a ton of stickers, and does a good job introducing sight words. My only 'knock' on the book -- and it is slight -- is that the sight words are the simpler sets of sight words without a lot of advanced options. My daughter went from knowing zero of these sight words before starting kindergarten to knowing them all well just 3 months later, so her useful window for this book was pretty limited. That said, the format of the book itself is very good, and if we'd introduced it to her earlier in PreK she might have used the book for more time. I'd definitely recommend this for 3-5 year olds, and perhaps as old as 6 years if they are still in early kindergarten.

Colorful, fun and you can reward with lots of stickers!
This is a great little workbook for older preschoolers. It definitely still requires some major parental guidance but it has some great teaching tools. It definitely gets your child to start recognizing small sight words. There is a find a word where you are supposed to find the word AT and lots of things where you find the difference in the pictures. For instance there are three thrones and you have to circle the one that is different. The main body of each page has the main activity and then along the bottom of each page is a nother smaller activity that can be done more quickly. In the center of this book are tons of motivational stickers, two pages worth. There are lots of 'Awesome Job' and 'Way to shine' stickers as well as a full page of stars. This is a great full color book of sixty-four pages and absolutely a great value.

Good workbook for younger pre-readers
I've purchased a number of sight word materials to help my kindergarten aged son develop his reading abilities. Most of the books focused on having the child write the word multiple times; just as with repetition in writing letters. While this can help, my son quickly grew bored of writing the words over and over. In contrast, this book includes other activities to help build familiarity with the sight words. It also includes stickers for the child to earn, which is always a huge plus for my kids. Given the list price, I found it to be a good value in terms or quality and interest for my child.
