RWBY: After the Fall

Excellent companion novel to the main series that builds the world and supporting cast out more in anticipation of future Volumes. Looking forward to Volume 10!

Like the series of 4 RWBY books (recommended for other reasons) this book also connects with details of what happened to CFVY from just before the dance at Beacon Academy to right BEFORE the Fall. Therefore it's timeline does have direct references from seasons 2 & 3 of the anime. So "After the Fall" is a bit misleading, even though it touches on of the Fall of Beacon.Ultimately, it does takes place 1 year later (so yes most of the stories are "after"), nonetheless it is a moreso a retrospective upon the revelations & complexities of team CFVY within the setting of Vacuo. And in difficult & challenging circumstances.It has basically 3 main timelines that the chapters swing back & forth within its related storylines. A bit odd, going non-linear, but very enjoyable nonetheless.It gives detailed insight that is not present in the RWBY anime series (now in season 7) that ultimately gives the reader the issues that CFVY had yet to learn to come together as a true "team". Very worthwhile, and revealing.This reads like a traditional Western book (front 2 back & left 2 right). If you watch the series, this is recommended for the nuance and hidden insights into CFVY.
