The H2Okit weighs only 11.5 ounces and all components fit within the Nalgene water bottle (8.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide). Aside from the Katadyn Micropur MP1 Purification Tablets that have roughly a 3-year shelf life, a properly cared for H2Okit is robust enough to last a lifetime. For extended storage after use, sanitize the Nalgene bottle and all components of the Sawyer MINI kit with a bleach (fragrance free) and water cleaning mixture, let completely dry, and place in a cool, dry and dark environment.
