Thompson Chain Reference Bible Loose Leaf – January 1, 2015

This Topical chain reference bible is the BEST investment I ever made in my walk with God. I bought mine back in 1994 when I became a Christian and I am buying two more today for a friend and my son who is coming to the age where he will be needing more "meat" this Bible is not only the inspired word of God but it contains the tools we need in order to look up subjects and find scriptures. quick and easy right on hand when you need them. It is a top rate reference bible - if you have this - you really could make it the rest of your christian walk with no other reference. Basically it's not ment to give you someone elses point of view, but only to help you FIND the scriptures you need in your daily life. If you're dealing with parenting issues - you look up the subject of parenting or family in the reference part and it will give you the SCRIPTURES that pertain to this subject. You then can read Gods word about this subject - not someones oppinion. Or if you have a friend who would like to know more about baptism - you could look up baptism in the refernce and it will give you SCRIPTURES about this subject that you can look up. IT's GREAT!I can't speak highly enough about The Thompson Chain Reference Bible - As I stated above - it was and IS the best investment I have ever made in my christian life. It has made studying the Bible not only possible - but EASY. I am so greatful for it.

FINALLY! A study Bible that makes study enjoyable, easy, and deeply motivating! The many reference pages are beyond description without writing a complete 50 page report so let it suffice to say, if you enjoy reading and studying God's word while learning many interesting facts about the characters, places, and history of the Bible then THIS IS THE BIBLE for you. I have not seen abetter example of a study Bible! This was an exceptional price with many others going for extremely high prices, but I can see why some would pay those prices as it is just that good!Get one today and really dig into the greatness of the word of God! I have a free version on an Android device but I do not like using it as it is not as easy to find the information. Give me a printed version for study EVERY TIME! This is the BEST!

If you want a study Bible that has not been influenced by any denomination, then this is it. I have used it for many decades. The chain references is a great help in study throughout topics in the OT and NT. I have the other versions, but wanted the 1984 NIV. I did NOT want the so called new NIV. As far as I know BB Kirkbride does not use the new NIV yet. I located their website and they plainly stated that none of their Bibles in NIV were the 2011 NIV new. So, I don't know if these are the last of their kind for BB Kirkbride. Some study Bibles are going to the ESV. I have an ESV and like it, but not as much as the NIV 84 translation. This is one great Bible reference system IF one just wants the Word to meditate and come up with their own conclusion with the help of the Holy Spirit. Translations are in KJV, NKJV, NASB, and NIV 84.

I probably have about 10 Bibles, in all different versions, paperback, hard cover, even an old KJV leather bound that I got for my confirmation, so what do I need with yet another? But my sister in law showed me hers, with the references in the margins, and I was intrigued, fascinated. I went home and read the reviews. I had to have one. For some reason, I by-passed the used ones and less expensive issues, treated myself, and bought this gorgeous leather bound edition with the gilt edge and red letter text. I think of all the purchases I have made in the past year, this was the most meaningful and the one I enjoy more often. I'm glad I splurged. The Word of God is always precious, no matter what it is printed on, but this adds to the joy.

The Thompson Chain Reference Bible is an indispensible Bible study tool because each verse has many links to the the same or similar subjects throughout Scripture. You can also use the chain reference section in the back similarly to a topical Bible. The concordance is quite a bit more exhaustive than those contained in most Bibles. I got the large print version when I misplaced my standard size. While still not huge print (remember: they've packed a lot of reference, concordance, maps, charts, etc. in as well), it is indeed easier to read and still a manageable size to carry around. Sadly, many Christian bookstores do not regularly keep these in stock, so people don't get a chance to compare them to other styles.

Bought this for my husband for his birthday and he says it is the best. He has an old KJV Thompson Chain Reference that he loves but it is falling apart. This NASB Thompson Chain Reference is better because it is newer and they have updated the charts and helps in back - making them clearer and easier to understand. My husband even says that the type is a bit larger which he likes but it does make the bible thicker. If you want a study bible, Thompson Chain is the way to go because it helps you study & understand the scriptures by going though the chains - one scripture leads to the next scripture on each topic you look up.
