I bought for when I want to measure something where I cannot reach both ends of the tape ... I know; I could ask someone to hold the other end, but if no-one is around ... ?It works brilliantly and is easy to use ... not even got around to using all of the functionality yet.It is also fun to use, and I find I measure more than estimate now ... something my wife is happy about since the wrong carpet size incident ... oh, and the pieces of Green Oak that were incorrect ... !

really rubbish. I cannot begin to explain how bad this device is . simple linear measurements seem accurate enough but anything even slightly more complicated cause a massive failure in basic functionality. the first problem was it took 6 hours to charge!! 6 hours!! 2nd the measurement of a section of wall which is approx 1.3 metes came back at 0.382 metres. 3rd there is a 'stand' presumably to keep the device from falling over , however when this stand is employed the device does not sit either straight, level, square or vertical - I fail to understand what is the point in including such a ridiculous design fault. a company nearly 130 years old should do much better . for the price of nearly £200 I expect much better than this. extremely disappointed . oh and 4th it will not work outside which was the main issue in the first place. i shall continue to use my tape measure and protractor and basic maths to carry out my measuring until i find a device that does what it says it will do. avoid this overpriced piece of junk it will cause more stress and mistakes and ultimately cost more money and time than is justified . . oh and 5th the app !!! what a frustrating waste of time and energy - I would need another whole review just to explain how crap that is! needless to say - it will not do what you expect it to . it is basically a glorified notepad

This bit of kit has saved me hours of time over the course of a weeks site measures.The app that you can use with this for floor plans takes a while to master but is well worth the investment of time to save time in the long run.Small in size yet powerful in use.

Great tool and it’s truly a time saver. Does everything that it said it could do pretty impressed with the software for the mobile phone. The battery seems to hold it's charge pretty well, and it does charge fast. Strongly recommend!
