Misleading Labeling
be very careful with this interface!i was under the impression, that there were two versions of this interface- standard (48k) and high defenition (96k). i returned the first one i got because i thought i had gotten the wrong model as my daw wouldn't open a 96khz session with this interface. but no. i had, indeed, received the correct (and only) "high-definition" modelusually, when interfaces claim to be "high definition", they mean at least 96khz. while this unit technically DOES support higher definition projects, it maxes out at 48khz.for normal operation and mobile device use, 24bit/48khz is plenty good. but still- calling this "high-definition" in today's 192khz world is a bit misleading. there are plenty of interfaces of similar cost and form factor that do support 96khz and i recommend those over this TC.3 stars as it funtions very well in every other way. no problems with daw recognizing it (torture-tested with a 14-year old computer running 11-year old software. worked just fine), headphone sound was great. mic pre sounds good. just need that 96khz support...

Lightning connector broke and was stuck in my mobile phone. Low quality.
I was looking forward to using this device because of the Midas preamp, but was let down by the quality. It failed the 1st day I owned it. I sent it back.It took some time for me to figure out that the unit powers on after you install and open Go Studio FX app. Unfortunately the instructions do not mention this. The app will authenticate and state the unit has been unlocked and is ready for use.I managed to do about 12 brief 10-second vocal recordings using my SM57. Go Record and Go Studio FX worked fine, but using other apps for video/audio I ran into issues. During those recordings I lost the ability to monitor audio through the headphones. After that it was down hill. At this point I thought the headphone must have come lose, but that was not the case. Next, I thought the unit just needs a reboot. I kept thinking an on/off button would have been nice. I unplug everything and plug it back in and restart all apps. Well….. now the blue led indicators are not lighting up and the unit will not power on. So I attempted to try another time, however, this time I pull the cable out and the metal lightning cable was stuck in my phone. Wow! I was shocked. That’s the end for this product.I suggest TC-Helicon use a full metal connector instead of the hard plastic. They should also fix the audio monitoring using 3rd party apps. I don’t think I want to go through this again. I ended up purchasing a Bluetooth microphone. I could not risk destroying my iPhone by sticking something into the charging port.

Needs 10 pin USB mini cable
This device will only work with a 10 pin USB mini cable.I did test the TC Helicon cable with a USB-C adapter and it worked.

Garbage
If you plug in the USB cable the lights come up as long as there are no batteries in it. Putting the two AA batteries in is like a master OFF. Also it does not output anything, the AUX output never has a signal on it. Not sure if my unit is defective or it's just a defective design. If you plug it into an iPhone with the lightning cable the power light just flickers randomly. I recommend spending your money elsewhere.
