PNYXLR8 CS3040 2TB M.2 NVMe Gen4 x4 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) - M280CS3040-2TB-RB​

It’s been working great on my ps5. It’s been in my system since the latest SSD expansion update was released and upon installing it I got 5636 sequential read speed. Sony calls for 5500 and honestly I think anything too far above that at this point is just to brag about the brand and speed. Just a heads up everyone, we are not gaming at 8K! So this thing should be plenty of speed, I play cold war off of this along with other ps5 games and I haven’t noticed any throttling yet, I also recommend getting a heatsink that fits. May-2023 update: still working great and have not had any issues whatsoever other than the SSD memory size being too small (1 terabyte). Considering prices I would opt for the larger 2 terabyte version but the 1 terabyte version is still great for the money!

I now had had the NVMe drive in my PS5 for a month now. No issues easy to install, runs fast and cool because it paired with a heat sink ( recommended ). I play on the PS5 3 to 4 hours a day 4 times a week. Moved over 150GB in about 15 mins at a rate of a little over 5600mbs. It a heck of a deal for the price. You can pay more for a faster NVMe which saves you a few minutes but why!?!?

For people writing about the speeds not working properly? Please take note:10th gen and below Intel processors will default to 3rd generation speeds so you will see Read speeds in the 3K -4K range. This is an Intel Limitation.11th generation and 12 Generation are the one that can run the 4th generation speeds. Additionally, you have to install the M.2 in a 4th gen slot for it to work, if you don't you will still wind up at 3rd Gen speeds.Know what you are buying, and how to use it!This M.2 works Perfectly.

It works and was pretty easy to install, but the read/write speed shown on PS5 after installing is lower than the speed advertised on the box. Seems to work fine. No issues so far.

Almost as fast as advertised, I think other reviewers used the secondary m.2 slot. I used the cpu m.2 slot with the gigabyte's nvme cooler that came with my b660 gaming x motherboard. the ssd is very hot though, ambient is 25c, idle ssd temps sitting at 35c, reading temps sitting at 45c and writing temps at 58c. on a hot day, the idle temps were 47c, the ambient was about 32c. this is the cheapest ssd with dram that is available right now. also according to pny its rated for 1800 tbw. this is insane, even the samsung 970 pro is rated for 600 tbw. overall seems like a solid product.

Using Youtube videos I was able to install the SSD into my HP laptop without any issues. I also cloned my original hard disk to this drive and made it my boot drive using Reflect 8. Everything went just as expected and my laptop which had been dragging is now flying. It gave new life to this machine. I am completely satisfied with the PNY SSD.

Montato sul mio DELL XPS15 9750 funziona alla grande, PCI-E 4.0 funziona anche se il pc dispone solo della versione PCI-E 3.0... molto veloce e praticamente non scalda.

W dobrej cenie i nawet te prędkości z opakowania się zgadzają. Na teście odczyt 5010MB zapis 4266 MB.Niestety pierwsza sztuka była uszkodzona (nie widać było w BIOS) baaaardzo szybka wymiana poprzez Amazon 2 dni później dostałem nowy dysk i działa co widać po statystykach.

I bought this to test various brands of usb enclosure. Works every well. Did not test top speed as the usb enclosures max out at 10Gbps (USB 3.2 gen 2).Bought this during an Amazon sale.Update. Finally I tested it on a B660 motherboard. Read speed is around 5000MB/s and write speed is 2500MB/s. This is for the 500GB. Bigger capacity drives should be faster.
