Very good
I used a sametec 1911 adapter plate to mount this to an ithica 1911. It doesn't sit high and bulky like most rds mounted this way. What i like:Clear reticle in daylight and dark on auto modeThe light sensor is on the front and adapts with a mounted flashlightEasy to push buttonsSleek lookingDon't like:Very hard to change batteryVery difficult to sight in. Used 2 boxes of ammo. I don't think the moa clicks are accurateVery few overall settings outside of brightness and auto modeI think it's comparible to the holosun 507c. They both have different and better features than the other. I bought both. This one came with a hat so that's a point in vortex favor lol.If your in the same boat as i was between the holosun 507c and this vortex venom here's my take:Holsun pros over vortex: 3 different reticle styles, 3 different modes, easy to change battery, longer battery life and solar power, pre zeroed at 25yds for minimal adjusting,Vortex pros over 507c: light sensor is in better position, sleeker and less bulky, easier to push buttons, cheaper, free hatI'd prefer the vortex for tactical purposes and the holosun for edc.

Good low profile sight
It's bright and holds true. Fairly easy to get batteries in. Can't wait for the zombies to come.

Best optic I've ever owned
Easy to sight in and holds its target on point after running about 300 hundred rounds through my m1a 308 I've yet to even have to recalibrate/adjust it at all . It's still dead on target . Best optic I've ever owned and highly recommend it !!!!!!

If your looking look no more !
I purchased this red dot sight in a three MOA for one of my handguns. After looking at several different models with a range of several hundred dollars I chose after the review of each the vortex venom the quality and features are very good. The products finish is very good at $200 is a great value considering the handgun cost $500, I know you pay for what you get but it’s hard to justify a $600 optic on a $500 gun that does the same thing. I do like the size of the optic lens. It allows you to acquire a target easier to the eye. We have had this on one of our handguns for a few months now, and are very happy with our choice the viper venom! One thing to note, make sure you use blue Loctite on the screws, or you will run the risk of finding your sight coming off your handgun due to recoil. I learned this first hand, corrected it with Loctite and have had no problems. I highly recommend this red dot sight for its quality and value you will not be disappointed. I have no purchased more than one with no problems!

Vortex Venom
The sight itself is great this will be the third one I own. My quarrel is not with the sight itself it’s the extra I spent to get the hat as well which was a really bad decision. The hat is complete garbage….

Great optic can't go wrong here 👍🏼
Fantastic mini reflex rds for pistols. Hold zero perfectly for me after 100 rounds.Great fov, easy target acquisition, the top loading battery is a must have for these. As no one wants to remove their optic to replace a junk battery then have to re zero. The brightness settings are great I find even at the lowest its more than bright enough. It also has an automatic brightness with ambient sensors so thats cool. But I stay at lvl 1 brightness.Super easy installation, I would definitely recommend getting some red vibratite vrs the blue lock stuff much better in my opinion.I see these are out of stock now but if you can get one, do it. You won't regret it.It is mounted on my Sig sauer p320 subcompact.I did need to buy an adapter plate from outerimpact (go there for all your mounting plate needs great company and they always respond to emails in hours not days but I digress lol)To remove the rear iron sight(it is a dovetail style) off a sig you just need a brass punch a mallet and a bench vice and some good ole fashion brute force lol dont be afraid to smack that shit you will hurt yourself before you hurt the slide lol(but you can scuff it) just make sure you are hitting it on the left side pushing it out the right side. Otherwise you may damage the slide. Not sure but that's just the way the come out, left to right.I hope this was helpful to someone, took me days to gather all that info. When I initially undertook this project. Thanks Amazon, and thanks vortex for the awesome optics and cool hat haha

Consistent quality and great warranty
This is my 3rd Vortex optic. I have a Viper on my EDC, a Venom on my Baretta 1301 (12ga), and this Venom, is for a long slide 10mm.These are stellar optics, that reliability hold zero! They are extremely reliable and have held up to rigors of concealed carry, and the heavy recoil of a 12ga. They are dead on, every time! Based on price, this optic is middle of the road, but it delivers high end performance.Aside from quality, their lifetime warranty is 100% legitimate! Last year, my shotgun (with Vortex Venom installed) fell off the bed of a truck. On the way down, it (the optic) bounced off the hitch, before landing directly on gravel. The glass shattered!! I called Vortex, told them exactly what I did, and asked for a repair quote. To my surprise, they replaced the optic at no charge, and went above and beyond to ship it asap. To me, that degree of customer service, is worth the price alone! You can't go wrong with Vortex products.

Nice sight but batteries don't last very long
Very nice sight and accurate when moving the sight to dial in. Battery life is short, carry spares with you at all times.
