Great Art
This is a great DVD set that comes with the documentary and full footage of their performances on two disks. There is also an included book showing images from their tour around Iceland. It's all very beautiful and I highly recommend.

If you're not moved by this, then............
While paging through my cable guide one night, I saw this playing on IFC. As I already had their CD (), I decided to check it out. While I missed all but the last half-hour or so, I was so impressed I just had to have it. After just having watched the complete feature for the first time, my initial impressions have only strengthened. In 2006, after a world tour, the band returned to their native Iceland for a series of unannounced, free concerts. This literally sets the stage for what is to come - because when a rock band does that in this day and age, you KNOW they love and respect their land and it's people. And when you watch and listen, those emotions come through loud and clear. While the music itself is enough, sometimes rocking but always evocative and moving, when combined with the stark, beautiful Icelandic images, this DVD becomes simply transcendent. And seeing it now, knowing it was made before the recent economic collapse, it's all the more poignant. One can't help but wonder whether the band will do another such tour now, when it is needed more than ever. And this is a terrific value also - there is a second, 152 minute disc that contains the full-length performances of all the songs featured in the film, plus extras. In short, a musical...visual...EMOTIONAL tour-de-force. For all fans, of Sigur Ros specifically and music in general, simply essential.

Should be required viewing for music or art fanatics
This film is absolute magic. If you are a Sigur Ros fan it goes without saying you will enjoy this immensely. Seeing many of their best songs played live in great quality, and often in different styles or methods than the studio or other live versions, is obviously a treat. Also as a fan of the band I very much appreciated seeing more of them as people and artists, as well as their home to understand more of their origins and such. Consider this a must-see (or must-buy) if you enjoy the band. However, more importantly, if you enjoy music as an art form at all, I can't see how you wouldn't enjoy and appreciate this quite a bit, regardless of your specific opinion of Sigur Ros. Seeing firsthand the devotion of the band members to art, music, fans, and home is extremely impressive. Not just the emotional and beautiful songs, but also within interviews and off-stage footage. Combined with the almost surreal environments of most of the performances and the natural beauty of Iceland, it makes for an incredibly emotionally enriching experience. Not to overuse the word, but everything can absolutely be described as just: beautiful.

Great film!
Great film, talented band, engaging music, epic cinematography, beautifully edited. One of my favorite films of this nature. The guys from Sigur Ros do a wonderful job but the addition of the ladies from Amiina really are a treat. Great music with wonderful views of the Icelandic countryside and engaging interviews. Two thumbs up!

Support what you like
This wasn't as profound of a find as the first CD of Sigur Ros I ever listened which was Untitled(). But the imagery as others have mentioned is worth the purchase alone. I also thought some of the songs were a little weak. That being said I spent a good 2-3 (maybe 4) hours watching a pouring over this DVD and the extras one it (so how weak was it really?). Will I watch it again? Maybe not directly. It might be something I'll throw in the DVD player as I'm doing other things on around the house. I could also see how this might be cool to have on the TV at laid back party. Either way, we're not talking about a down payment on a house here. For less then the price of meal and a few drinks you can have some great entertainment. I vote with my $ and I like what Sigur Ros does, how they handle themselves, and this product.

Who's Sigur Ros?
Haven't heard of Sigur Ros? Don't know their music? This DVD is a great place to start!!!Not only do you get a "best of" in terms of the music, but it is all set to the most amazing scenery that's beautifully and sensitively filmed. In fact some of the versions of their tracks are better on this DVD than on the album. There's a pureness and vulnerability that comes from performing in a community hall in front of fifty people. Or performing acoustically on the soon to be dam bed. And the natural sound of the glacier. Amazing! The DVD is both Dolby Digital and DTS. The camera work is great. So to is the commentary. The music, the topography, the interviews - this DVD is a gem!!

A spiritual experience
I may be biased with this review since I love Sigur Ros so much, but I think anyone who sees this film will have a similar experience. It is a work of art, coupling Sigur Ros' unrivaled music with some beautiful cinematography. It is truly a joy to watch this movie.I recommend as viewing arrangements a large t.v. with a great sound system turned up very loudly. Anything less just wouldn't do this film justice.I laughed, I cried, and as the last scene of Untitled 8 finished, I was left sitting in complete silence, unable to move or speak or even think. That is how beautiful this is.

Nostalgia, Goofy Interviews and Priceless Cinematography = Heima
Considering the fact that I no longer pass my days in my native lands, for me, a viewing of Sigur Ros's film "Heima," a documentary about the groups return home to Iceland after a year-long long tour abroad, inspired in me an onslaught of personal nostalgia and introspective reflection. The combo of the indubitably beautiful music and landscapes, along with the quirky idiosyncrasies that characterize the Icelandic brood, make one personally investigate the sentiment that comes along with having a "home". However, be warned... although they DO speak English throughout the film , I recommend hiring English subtitles due to the nearly incomprehensible English spoken by the band... But no worries, it's mystic and cute....

giving this 5* is no away near what it should get.
went to see film as used to live in Iceland - and not for the music. Took m8 who was not sure. Cinema was packed out (we'd expected only a few folk to want to go and see a film about an Icelandic band in Iceland) . But we and everyone else were stunned by it -and at the end the whole audience applauded, which I'd never heard done before in a cinema. It is stunningly beautiful and the music was gob smacking. As soon as I got home I ordered it right away. It is impossible to describe; - it is beautiful - hauntingly beautiful, lyrical, and that feeling you get when music really touches us all to our depths - not your "dial a hit" we are so used to being forced on us now a days - this is real music and poetic beauty merged with poetic stunningly beautiful filming that the film and the music merge; not enough words to explain it. Now I want to get every album Sigur Ros has made!Mjรถg skemmtilegur og fallegur!!!Simply brilliant - you have to get and watch!!Oh, and could see where I used to live in Reykjavรฌk - just out of shot to right!!!

Absolutely Stunning
Possibly the most beautiful film I have ever seen. Absolutely stunning. The music, the scenery, the lovely people involved. It made me cry it was so touching. I shall watch it many times to be sure. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Heima - something pretty unique and amazing.
The Icelandic Tourist Board should send this out as a sure fire way to boost their visitors. Heima is a beautiful peep at parts of Iceland that seem to add context to Sigur Ros' amazing music and performances. If it hadn't worked it could have come across as ego-driven and navel-gazing. But it does work. It works incredibly well. The live performances happen at glaciers and in tiny halls and some of the photography is mind-blowing.If you don't "get" Sigur Ros then get this!!

GET READY TO CRY
Not because it's so bad; but cry because you are so moved by this awesome film. The people, the landscape and, most importantly, the music. SUBLIME.

Love it!
I absolutely love this DVD. The music, the landscape and the interviews are blended beautifully together. Having been to Iceland twice I now find the place and the music of Sigur Ros inseparable. I would have liked the map locations to be clearer on the DVD.I've never seen so many wooly jumpers in one place.I want to go back - and have a guided tour with Sigur Ros.
