Make it Snappy Tools 3/16 Inch Quick Change Drill Bit Adapter #42012

Do cabinets for a living and it's a pain sharpening smaller bits if the quick connect is on them. The fact I can still throw this in the impact (because it's lighter and spins faster old timers) but take it off when it gets dull makes it AWESOME! Drilled thousands of holes for hardware and installing. Not issues or wobble, super solid and great value. Quick and easy bit changing.

These collets are excellent. I chuck it up in my DeWalt impact and a moment later I either have a hole or a shattered drill bit. It drills about 4 times faster, and eliminates the jammed up bit when it breaks through due to the impact mechanism hammering the bit. I've been using them almost a year now and have never had a bit spin in the collet. Also there's 180° twist in the collet shaft from the impact yet it has not broken nor does it show any sign that it will. Only problem is my coworkers are always borrowing it and don't want to give it back. Until the bit wears our or breaks....

Very helpful for small work

Just a heads up to any new buyers on these.This may be a machining flaw, or it may be intentional to allow for slightly larger or slightly smaller bit sizes than 1/32nd, but TO NOTE: the collet itself on the Snappy 1/32nd drill bit adapter, is uncharacteristically LOOSE.You need to#1) hand tighten the outer sleeve until you cannot turn it any further. NOTE: IT WILL NOT YET GRIP the 1/32nd bit.To get it to grip the bit firmly#2) you have to either install the chuck in your drill or a vise, clamp it firmly, then use a crescent wrench or 1/4 wrench to FURTHER tighten the sleeve around the collet WELL PAST hand tightness.I only bring this up because IME most collets (such as Dremel) will grip the bit via a hand tightening of the outer screw down sleeve, then require just a slight turn of a wrench to really hold, but these Snappy adapters DO NOT DO THAT. They are VERY LOOSE all the way down to maximum hand tightness.Again, you will need a considerable further clockwise wrench turn to get these to grip the bit firmly.Other than that, these appear to be very well built, and made in the USA to boot, another BIG added +.Hoping this adapter holds up, especially considering the needed heavy wrenching with every bit change, but we'll see. I'll update my rating in a few months. For now, 3 stars due to the (presently) concerning extra torque wrenching required.

These adapters allow you to buy less expensive "regular" quality drill bits and make them a quick change bit. I have 2 full sets of these adapters, one for wood with brad point drills and another for metals. Every Snappy Tools tool I have works great and is well made.

Worked great and shipping was fast. Gets used constantly and these snappy quick change last at least 3 months doing sheet metal.

Feels like poor machining. I have countless attachments to my Dremel 8250 and they all work perfectly.Going back to Amazon

I chose this Snappy Drill Adapter to be able to use my drills on my new Makita Impact driver. I used it a couple of times. It worked great for my project. I can now just buy regular drill bits and use this wonderful adapter. It feels rigid, good steel material.Will recommended.

Works s expected

Unfortunatly it did not work with 1/32” bit. It was too loose to grab the bit, we broke the bit trying to make it work.
