x20 Back Box Repair Clips Replace Damaged Threads or Lugs on Installed Electrical Metal Back Pattress Boxes

Great little piece of kit. Deals with the disaster when the thread on electric boxes screw holes gets stripped or the screw lug snaps off. Saves huge amount of work in replacing the whole box and associated wiring issues. Simple yet effective and worth every penny.

Although it becomes obvious once you are into the job, the instructions don’t spell out that you need to break off the tab on the backbox before you can fit the clip, which is a bit disconcerting. I still give the item 5 stars because it really did the job perfectly and saved me all the hassle involved in replacing the whole backbox for the sake of a stripped thread.

The back box I wanted to repair was quite deep in the wall, I found it almost impossible to get the clip on the side of the box. After quite some time I succeeded. The spring that holds the clip in place is very strong, so it's not going to fall off. If the box was at the surface, it would have been a lot easier. You need a gap at the side of the box to be able to clip it on and any protruding bits of metal on the side of the box need to be removed. Quite any expensive item, but unique and far quicker than having to replace the back box. I would recommend these.

What a simple and easy to fit solution to broken screw lugs in metal electrical back boxes. Without these I would have had to break out a very tightly installed back box in our external wall cavity that had wiring coming in from both sides, which would have meant having to damage wallpapered plasterboard !!!!I now keep some on hand.Also, many thanks Amazon for offering it's same-day service, and on a Bank Holiday Sunday meaning I could fix the problem quickly.

I've used these before and they're a lifesaver when someone cross-threads a switch or socket bolt and rethreading doesn't work. Well worth keeping a few on the van for those nightmare jobs!

They are great easy to fix as long as you have a gap on the sides of the box. If you haven't you can always scrap some of the plaster away like I did. I will definitely get them again

It depends what you call value for money…. If you look at the item and then look at the cost you would think the value for money is very poor as at circa £1.75 each for a little clip you’d not be mistaken for thinking they were ridiculously expensive for what they are.You’d be mistaken…the value is in the individual who created such a simple solution to an issue that when you come across it can be a nightmare to resolve and with the very real potential for mass upheaval and time spent trying to either repair or replace the faulty back box.To sort the situation I came across took as long as it did to unscrew the remaining pin out of the socket….push in the repair clip on the side of the back box that had the original missing and then screw the socket back on…….3 minutes max………Brilliant!!!!As I said I wanted to see how good it was before I wrote the review and I couldn’t be more impressed….Would I recommend…..you bet… and for any spark out there well worth keeping a couple on the van.Top marks to the individual who came up with the idea and then produced it.
