Medium : Mixed media on yupo paper, framed (white 3 inches mat and black frame) Size: 9 x 12 inches Life pattern is a series where I am reworking some of the drawings I did in life drawing class by integrating them into a highly patterned background. I am interested in the juxtaposition of the fluid forms of the human body and the geometrical repetition on patterns. The title refers to the patterns on the image but also to the challenge of breaking recurring patterns in our lives. People often comment that these series remind them of Japanese wood prints, A form of Art I enjoy very much and in which I admire the design simplicity and efficiency.
