More like what I expected from the competition...
I purchased this pedal as a more reasonably priced way to try another vibe pedal after considering all the good reviews. I had bought a Fulltone mini deja vibe back in the spring and never really could get the vibe tone I wanted out of it, and just kept not really liking it as much as I tried to make myself. It really seems the deja vibe and other exact univibe replica pedals are plagued by the problem the original had of being very inconsistent from one pedal to the next and having to try multiple units to find a "good one". No doubt there are great sounding deja vibes out there but mine was just not doing it and did not sound like the demos I had seen. No offense to fulltone, I love my 70' fuzz.I really am happy with the BBE soul vibe. It does the Gilmour tones I want pretty well and has a nice throb as you turn it up to the faster settings. It sweeps really nice on the lower settings and begins to warble more on the mid speed settings. sounds really good just about no matter how you set it. This really has a great sound and BBE has found a way to get you 98% of the way to the original tone with a more reliable design that has less inconsistency from one pedal to the next. It is not the best vibe out there I'm sure but it is really, really good. Especially for the reasonable price. Also I like that it is totally analog. Has no volume drop when engaged. Just has that magical tone about it. Led pulses to the speed of the pedal. True bypass also. They just got it right on this one.Anyway the Deja vibe is for sale. The soul vibe is on my board and I hope to recoup a few dollars... I will be gigging this pedal regularly.

Sweet!!!!
For me it was a toss up between the Danelectro Cool Cat Vibe and the BBE Soul Vibe. The Cool Cat was a good sounding pedal but it had 2 discrepancies I did not care for: one was the audible kick it gave in volume when you engage it and the other was the half second delay it had between engaging the effect switch and the time the effect actually kicked in. This was unacceptable! I've seen cheapo effects that cost a lot less and they don't do this!!As for the Soul Vibe, I love it! It was exactly what I was looking for. It produces a beautiful swirling vibrato effect reminiscent of the vibrato effects from the late 60's and early 70's. You can easily get the Pink Floyd or Robin Trower like tones out of it. Running a compression effect behind this one greatly enhances the effect. As for tone loss, IMO there was an extremely negligible amount of tone loss as well as a faint swishing sound. Then again you have to remember boys and girls-this is an all analog effect! If you don't want tone loss then go digital but in my opinion the sound quality is not as good.On the downside I have a few very minor gripes about this pedal but not enough to tarnish its review standing: One was the internal trim pot. In my opinion it would have been better if they would have just incorporated this feature as an external pot. Adjusting it is a rather cumbersome affair but I'm not complaining just pointing this out. The other beef I have is the screws on mine that install the battery cover were torqued down entirely way too tight!! After almost striping one out I had to place the top of the corner of the box against a block of wood and use a #1 Phillips screwdriver and a lot of pressure just to remove them (don't use a #2 Phillips; I guarantee you will strip the screw head out!). Fortunately, I was able to slowly back the 4 screws out to get access to the inside. There is absolutely no need whatsoever for these screws to be installed this tight! All in all, I'm sure some of those insanely priced $200-$400 vibrato pedals can give you more bells and whistles to tinker around with. Personally, I think a lot of these "boutique" style effects are one of the biggest rackets going and anyone who spends over $200 for an effect like this needs to go have their heads examined...but then again, to each their own! Aside from those meager 2 gripes I'll say this is a great effect and well worth the money.

Unless you're a vintage collector, this is perfect
This pedal is thick but clear...and gives the exact tone I was looking for from a univibe pedal. The Fulltone pedals have more control, but I don't think the core sound is any better than the Soul Vibe. This is a great pedal, irrespective of price. I have a lot of pedals and have sold a lot that I don't like. This one is staying.Make sure you put this pedal before an overdrive or distortion. Overdrive before this pedal will not give you the sound you're looking for!

Get'em While You Can!
Got it here for a fantastic price and fantastic seller. Its the old style with the graphic but same guts inside. And it comes with an adapter. New bland looking ones don't. These old styles won't last so be quick. I only paid 56% of the street price of the new ones. BTW, its got a very close UniVibe sound.

Robin Trower in a box
For the money none better. We a/b with my friends Dejavibe. The Dejavibe had a little more color. But side by side it was very close. We call it my Walmart pedal, because of the price. I am a big Trower fan,the SoulVibe and a good OD is all I need get the sound. Sounds good before or after the OD. Before is a little smoother, after more colorful. Either way is good. It even has an internal trimmer to balance the tone but I left at the factory setting, it is perfect. Very Well made, I looked inside. True Bypass. Don't buy one, I hate having the same pedal as everyone else.

Best bang for your UniVibe buck!
I have tried other vibe pedals on the market, but the BBE Soul Vibe is the best one for me. I play Pink Floyd style music and this pedal does it well. Keep in mind; this pedal is NOT a Leslie rotating speaker cabinet, not a Vox univibe, nor is it a Dunlop univibe. So don't expect it to be. It IS a very good sounding Vibe box. That can cover many styles of music at a very good price. If you are looking for a good univibe stomp box. I highly recommend giving the BBE Soul Vibe some consideration.

Brilliant! Just like Uni Vibe for MUCH less
Does exactly what you would expect. Nice warm, smooth tone. Sounds more like a $200 boutique pedal. Its analog circuitry really gives it a true vintage feel. Ive played the Dunlop Uni-Vibe, and the VooDoo Labs MicroVibe, and this pedal is as good, if not better than both its pricier cousins. The indicator light is actually much more useful (and pretty) than i thought it would be. I can say with complete confidence i have never gotten a better bang for my buck with any pedal (and i own many pedals!)...70 bucks!?!? What a steal!

Soul Vibe
The Soul Vibe does it for me, before I bought this my playing lacked a certain, well, Soul vibe! I'm using a 70s reissue strat through a modified Laney LC50 with celestion vintage speaker and the combination gives a very JH sound and an extra dimension to OD using the Soul vibe, very pleased with it.
