These models allow the open cover to rest lower against the spa for a slightly less-obstructed view. Depending on the mounting system, the CoverMate II can be screw-mounted low on the spa, or simply slid underneath for spas with weaker skirts using the optional Understyle bracket system (sold separately).

It takes two people to operate lift from the side or edge of cover to keep frame from twisting. One person however can operate lift if need be with ease using just one arm and correct technique. You can fold cover over middle bar. Get into spa and push folded cover from middle. To get cover back on just get behind the cover and push it from middle back over the spa. I bough this over the pneumatic model (that operates very easily) because I like how it does drop down and does not obstruct your view as much. Be very careful if you have a large spa with curved corners. The bottom hinge bracket needs to attach to a flat surface very close to the corner. You may not be able to properly position large hinge properly if your spa is larger with larger corner curvature or has molding or trim on it.

Covermate II comes in 2 mounting styles
I have an original Covermate II that uses the inderthe spa mounting bracket. It lasted 14 years before the one bracket rusted out. I order a new one only to find that it has a bolt onto the spa side mounting bracket which does not fit my spa due to the layout of the access panels. I contacted the seller through Amazon and they replied promptly and were able to get me the brackets that I need at an additional charge. If you need the under the spa mount be sure that is what you are ordering otherwise it will cost you a little more money and extra time.As for the lifter it works great and as I stated above lasts a long time.

Makes lifting the Spa Cover SO EASY!!
This CoverMate II Spa Cover Lift is exactly what we were looking for. It was easy to put together. The tubing is heavy duty, not flimsy. There is nice padding to grip when lifting the cover and then it slides along the back side of the tub out of the way. Because our tub is full. We had to use a wedge to ever-so-slightly lift the tub in order to side the bracket in position underneath. I'm a small 125lb woman & now that we installed the CoverMate II Spa Cover Lift, I have absolutely no problem removing the cover. Love our spa even more!

Lift Cover
The CoverMate II Spa Cover Lift arrived within a week. The box and all of the parts were delivered in excellent condition. The instructions were easy to follow and the lift works beautifully. It is so nice not to have the lid on the floor and then fall over. This unit seems expensive for what few pipes you receive, but it does the job!

Installation was easy as expected
This Spa cover lift was bought a year ago for a Sundance Dover spa. Installation was easy as expected. It is a good cover removal and return assist. However, the light weight aluminum pivot pipes bent / creased over time. We have not abused this lift. Also, consider it is mounted to a small two person spa. We replaced the unit with a "Cover Max" which is virtually identical with the exception is built with black steel pipes. WOW what a difference. Very strong and stabile. Very satisfied with the Cover Max. If you don't mind buying the unit twice, you can start out with the Cover Mate 2.
