I've given this one star overall in the hope it draws attention and prevents others making the same mistake as me.This item is great value and works for 'normal' smartphones that you plug in to charge, however something that is NOT AT ALL CLEAR in the description is that for this holder to work you have to place the supplied small adhesive metal plate on the back of either your phone or phone case ... and there's the rub ... IT TOTALLY REMOVES THE SMART CHARGING FUNCTIONALITY OF YOUR PHONE! (in my case and iPhone 13 pro max).So for any normal cable charged device OR if you want to totally brick your phones smart charging functionality then I would recommend it like thousands have, but this is TOTALLY UNSUITABLE FOR A MAGSAFE IPHONE or similar smart charger phones. Additionally regards compatibility I found on my Audi TT round vents the jaws of the clamp couldn't be inserted fully to grip properly so I would expect it to easily fall off on a bumpy ride.

I bought this to allow me to use my phone as a GPS in the car. This version clips to the louvres of the car air vent which is what I wanted but they also sell another version which attaches to the dashboard via a magnet.The unit is a high quality design which looks and feels good but more importantly attaches securely to the air vent and does not become detached. It can be easily removed if you want to use it in more than one car (a hire car for example) and the grip clip is extremely sturdy unlike some other flimsy holders that I have had in the past.I found it best to clip it to the bottom louvre of the vent and the ball-joint design made it very easy to position the angle so that the phone was in the best and direct angle of view. Once fitted the unit does not move at all with the vibration of the car even when going over speed bumps or potholes. The phone attaches by magnetism (two metal disks included which affix to the back of the phone) and this is strong enough (even through a phone case) to hold the phone firmly in place.This is a high quality unit which will last for years, it is a very effective design which works very well and it is small enough to slip into a pocket for example if using a hire car on holiday. Highly recommended.

This does what it say it does, the problem is that the ventilation grill in the car to which it is attached is not designed to have phones hanging from it and is therefore too flimsy, the phone rattles and shakes and not held still enough to be useable.

I prefer the latter.It's more expensice than most but what you are getting is a great mount and so good that ive bought twoTop buy!

I did a lot of research before selecting this phone holder and must admit, I was sceptical. However thanks to a reviewers video of it in action (thanks for that!) I thought I'd give it a try.There is a quality feel to product and the 'grip' feels like it has a rubberised coating so will not damage the car vents. I have a Nokia 7 plus and it holds this with no issues, even over speed bumps.It comes with a plastic coating to apply over the metal plate (if you are sticking this to your case as I did) to prevent any scratches to the back of the phone. I really nice touch as I was concerned about this.I have both horizontal and vertical vents in my car and I found the horizontal ones did pull closed from the weight when my phone was applied, however there are no issue with the vertical vent.Overall, really impressed with the quality of the product and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

For a while I've been looking something to replace a similar devide which I left in a hire car in America. Unlike the other device, this has a quality feel about it with a great ball and socket joint to position my mobile at the perfect angle. The strong rubber jaws fit very well in my car vents, see photo, and the strong magnet holds my mobile secure, even when the metal place is discreetly stuck to the inside of my phone case.

Good little product. Arrived within a day and very well packaged. Application of the back plate to my phone was easy, although my cover is transparent so you can see it, however it does come with a sticker to help you put it on and off of your don’t want the plate there all the time.Fitting the holder to my car was easy, however if you have horizontal vents it does pull them down. Fortunately as my vents aren’t that high, and due to the angle of my dashboard, my phone rests on the dashboard, but it may pull your vents down. It’s very sturdy though and the magnet is strong. Would recommend.

I do love this, it is so much easier than a fiddly cradle type of holder. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that I would love if the surface area was quite a bit larger as the best adhesion comes when you carefully line up the magnet at the back to the holder magnet which isn't quite as tedious as it sounds but if the surface area was larger you could simply pop it on probably without even looking and know it is safely in place. Other than this little qualm it does do the job, my phone has not fallen off yet and I've found it is more secure using the middle of the vent opposed to the bottom or the top, but then that's just basic physics. Delivery was very quick and the packaging was excellent.
