Ticks most boxes
Having tried and either returned or stuck in a drawer budget powered hubs it was time I invested serious money to get the dock I wanted, or rather needed. At £229 it is serious money and I deliberated over this and Caldigit, Belkin and even Lenovo docking stations before deciding on the Plugable to use with my Asus Zenbook.Almost got the perfect dock here. Just falls short of perfection but to be fair I don't know if this is a hub/dock issue or USB 3.0 issue. To get the negative out of the way I had hoped this would stop the juddery, unresponsive wireless USB 3.0 mouse which I use in conjunction with a wireless 3.0 USB Keyboard. Although it is much improved on the budget options and even trying an extension lead to move the mouse's transmitter away from the keyboard's, I still get judder. I have moved the mouse transmitter to a seperate USB 3.0 on the laptop (thanks to this multi-ported hub I have freed up) which has improved things a little but not completely. .On to the positives. As mentioned above this hub has lots of ports and connections available including the all important Thunderbolt 3 PD cable which supplies sufficient power to charge my Asus laptop and run the aforementioned keyboard, USB HDD and connect up 2 other displays. It's great that one cable can supply power and data through the one Thunderbolt 3 port!I now have up to two HD displays - a 4K TV and 2K Projector (limitation of projector, not dock), a HDD with Media files and have capacity for just about any other peripheral e.g. DVD player and Micro card I want to throw at it.Moving data around is a breeze and fast too. Lightning fast on capable hardware and again only "limited" by USB 3.0 tranfer speed. I may have to invest in a 40gb speed HDD now?! :)I have not tried the Ethernet port as use the WiFi 6 built into the laptop which on my home broadband connection is equally as fast & reliable.Sturdy and well built, with a strong stand to keep it upright. Needed too as can get a little warm when under load. So, yes £229 is too much to pay for a dock/hub but worth it.. don't waste time trying the hundreds of Chinese import hubs with all their false and empty promises (honestly I've tried a few!), go for one of these.

Great for a single cable solution, but I wish the cable was longer
Works perfectly with my MacBook Pro 13” 2020 model.I’ve been after a single cable solution that is capable of dual (non-mirrored) video output and this is it. It’s important to me to be able to keep my desk clutter free, but I also need to be able to plug in some physical devices, mostly phones as I’m an app developer. After trying various other thunderbolt 3 docks, I’ve ended up having to return them, they either stop working, or get so hot that I don’t feel safe keeping them plugged in when I’m not aroundSo far I haven’t had any of the usual issues, connectivity to displays is quick and faultless, I’ve got plenty of ports to spare and also the option to use either HDMI or DisplayPort is great. I’ve ended up mounting mine to the bottom of my desk with a single cable that the comes up through a grommet in the desk so I can have a near cable free set up and all is well.My only criticism, and why I’ve not given 5 stars is that the cable that comes in the box is really short. Even when I had the dock on my desk, I still kept having issues with how short it was as I moved my laptop around.

It is almost really great... comes closer than any other dock on deliverying the 1 cable connection
OK - so I waited almost a year for this dock to ship. For a 16" MacBookPro -- especially a Core i9 -- it is the only dock available that will power the machine when the GPU and CPU are fully loaded. I tried a few others but none could keep up with either of my 16" MBPs (personal and work).I've had issues running the displays both on HDMI and DP 1.2. I have two 27" Samsung displays and when they are first enumerated they often don't come up correctly. Often one of the 4k displays will come up in 2k mode. The other issue is they get enumerated in a way that MacOS often switches which is which (this could be a Mac OS issue).I've gotten things mostly stable using HDMI (which has been slightly better than DP). Both monitors come up most of the time when I connect a new machine to the dock. The bigest issue is the USB Gigabit ethernet device. The RelTek chipset has a problem that when driven by the MacOS driver the chip starts to babble when the computer goes to sleep. This has the ablity to take down my whole home network. For now I've moved from using the gigabit back to WiFi. I'm still using a lot of USB on the dock and I'm using the display and the power -- but I'm not getting everything I wanted out of the dock. Also the RelTek gigabit on USB3 does not deliver the same performance as a PCIe gigabit which is what I was expecting in the dock given the dock is targeted at highpower desktop replacement laptops with the 100w powersupply. So all in all it is a mixed bag - It is better than anything else I can find and I've tried a few others but none have yet delivered on a single connection to a macbook pro for power, network, and display. This dock gets closer than any other for a decent price but it still fails

Easy to use and Setup
The plugable Dock gave 2 4K @60 Hz straight out of the box. This also works well with my usb-c work laptop to which allows very easy switching between my personal thunderbolt 3 machine and work. I have also found that the plugable support team was very helpful and quick. The only reason not given 5 star, was down to not being able to run usb 3 external drive from the rear ports as there seems to a compatibility issue with the the synchronisation software that I use . Manged to get a suitable work round though and all in a very good piece of equipment.
