My Kids Love Them!
This is the second kind of fish oil pills that we have tried with the kids (6 and 2 years old) and they tell me they prefer these. They have a very clear “berry” candy sort of flavor and are easy to chew. Both my kids happily eat them, remind me to give them to them each day, and even beg me for more.PROs: Taste is better than other brands.Previously we were buying the Garden of Life brand Oceans Kids pills (https://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Ultra-Pure-Omega/dp/B00280M0ZS/ref=sr_1_10_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1510067949&sr=8-10&keywords=Kids+DHA). I like that brand’s other products so they were my first choice, but one day these Norwegian Gold ones were on sale when the Garden of Life ones were more expensive than normal, so I picked up a bottle of these. Comparatively, these taste much better than the Garden of Life Oceans Kids. When we first opened the Garden of Life Oceans pills my daughter (then probably 4) excitedly bit into one and immediately spit it out and said it tasted horrible. She can be a bit dramatic about things and is really picky when it comes to food so I decided to try one to see what I thought. It had a very distinctly “fishy” taste and, personally, I would not have considered those “chewable” at all. But I had a whole bottle of them so I decided to teach her to swallow them. Which worked fine and she liked doing that so I continued buying them. When my much less picky son became old enough to chew vitamins I let him try them, fishy taste and all, and he loved them, so clearly some kids do like those. But he loves these Norwegian Gold ones too and my daughter says they are much better.CONs: I worry a bit about the ingredients and nutritional value. While I reviewed the ingredients and label before I bought them and felt OK about them, I feel like these must have less fish oil in them than the Garden of Life ones. The Norwegian Gold fish oil pills don’t have any fish taste that I can notice. Also, the oil in the pills is brightly colored which has occasionally caused problems when my son decides to take the mostly empty shell of the pill out of his mouth and carry it around and drip brightly colored spit mixed with fish oil on his clothes and around the house (two-year-olds are awesome).Despite my reservations about the ingredients, I feel like, based on the claims on the label, they are good enough quality and with my kids’ endorsements, I am willing to keep buying these.

Swallow Whole if they Can
I had high hopes for these lots of good reviews. I tasted it first and knew my kid would not like it so I encouraged him to swallow it whole since they are small, but he is 5 and has never really done that, and of course he didn't. He bit it and the initial taste is fruity with a lingering aftertaste he so he would not take them again. I actually like fish and this really bothered me. I am taking them since he won't and I can't return but even I am not biting them. Swallow whole if you can.

I started this review years ago and apparently never posted it. So here is what I wrote, and I will update it at the end. I bought this for my 3 year old. He bit into it and immediately hated the taste and wanted to spit it out. It took a lot of effort to get him to swallow it anyway and chase it with something to drink. I tried to teach him how to swallow it whole instead without success until the fourth day when he finally figured it out. These pills are small, round, and smooth. Now that he can swallow them whole, he has no problem taking them. There is no way he would have taken them if he had to chew them.Update: He is now 9 and continues to take them daily. We do auto ship monthly with Amazon. My complaint is that the last couple of years, we've received bottles with the exact same expiration date 03/2022 and then 06.2022. Most recent shipment is still 06.2022 meaning they will expire soon. I'm cancelling my subscription and buying elsewhere for awhile. They obviously have an old stockpile they have been trying to get rid of for a very long time without any new product being stocked in the warehouse. Other vitamins I order regularly have expiration dates that change accordingly with the passage of time. Not this one. This is not a slight against the product but against the company that is shipping out the product. WARNING: CHECK YOUR EXPIRATION DATES!

These stick together, Amazon doesn't care
Overall, these are great for my kids. HOWEVER, the supplier Amazon uses must be in a hot area, because they come completely fused together. I have contacted Amazon over and over, and they just say to throw them away and use a different supplier on Amazon, which costs more. If you try to peel them apart, they explode all over, and the contents are bright red oil, which stains. I live in WY, and now it's winter, and I get these once a month on Subscribe and Save, and because it's so cold, I was able to pry the pills out of the bottle from this most recent order (also hard to do when they are all melted together) and separate them without popping them, again, I think due to the cold making them slightly less pliable. Anyway, I recommend one of two things: Amazon to get their act together and address this (never going to happen, I have tried), or order from someone else and pay more. Or, I guess, refrigerate them first before trying to peel them apart and hope for the best. Good luck.

I like so far....
I received this product three days ago. The firs thing I did was open to smell if it smelt fishy, no fishy smell at all! I explain to my son that he had to swallow the pills like mommy. I gave him some water and took the pill down without any problems. They are very small and they can melt in your child's mouth and they do not have to swallow. I purchased because my 4 year old has some behavioral problems and speech delay with articulation and I wanted to try to see if this help. He is very smart knows his ABC's, colors, shapes etc, but his behavior is a small problem at home and school. He is better this year than last year in preschool, He can sit for circle time and follow instructions, but with kindergarten coming up soon I want to have him ready. I would recommend. I will do an update after he is done with the first bottle.
