Purchased these to replace an older 2.1 system for desktop/office use, primarily for music at lower volumes. The highs were crisp, but overall the speakers seemed pretty flat ... and the bass was minimal for having a separate sub. Returned the set even though I had to pay $16 for shipping, and ended up with the Edifier 1280 which are much better sounding, so worth the extra $30 to me.The bluetooth on here, like many speakers, is wide open ... and can't be shut off. So if your office mate or otherwise want to sync up and start playing something, you can't stop them. The flashing blue light is also extremely annoying and can't be disabled, so plan to hide it with something.I did try to contact TV's support a couple of times over the course of a week with a simple question, but never got a response beyond their automated email reply. So that sealed my decision to return these.

Originally we wanted to purchase the STIL model but had problems with Amazon's erratic pricing fluctuating from $29.99 up to +$79 and it wasn't worth the insane jump in price for such a little weakly powered thing. And so we 'settled' for the Thonet and Vander Grub BT 2.1. It's a slightly larger model yet it is NOT without its problems. For twenty years I've used Altec Lansing's ACS45.1 2.1 computer speakers and it has done the job wonderfully. It has less power than the GRUB but the sound reproduction is excellent and can be easily heard three rooms away. The GRUB how ever with more wattage is difficult to tell its playing even with the volume half the way up. Couple this with two more troubling concerns and it makes it problematic recommending this speaker set. When the stereo is plugged in to the outlet but turned 'off' it will produce an audible 'Thump' every two minutes through its speakers. Remember that its OFF (small switch in the back) yet it must be leaking current through anyway. Its annoying and so we'll unplug it when not in use. Next, on the rear are a pair of RCA input plugs. We use this to send audio to the speakers from our PC but sometimes I want to have surround sound when watching a good movie sooo I'll turn the power off to switch inputs from the TV's outputs. While doing so we'll get a shock!!! Once again it IS turned OFF yet, YAP! (Possibly a problem with the capacitors) We've asked questions on Amazon yet received insufficient responses. I seriously recommend no one purchase Thonet and Vander until they thoroughly check and fix this problem. It could easily result in bodily harm and/or an electrical fire. Be careful if you've bought this already!

I got these because I was searching low and high for speakers where I wasn't just paying for a brand name. Hoping to get more quality over design.I saw these and put them on my list, and I searched YouTube to find a review by Flossy Carter that said these were a go.So, I took the plunge with these and I have to say that I'm delighted with the results.The full the room with defined music that is loud and punchy - I've tested it with 24-bit orchestral audio for balancing purposes and my favoured music too.I am discerning about my audio choices and I can't believe the value in these. If I had paid 50% more, I'd still be delighted with the result.One great thing - there is no hum at all. When I plugged them in, I thought at first that they were dead!Seriously, if you've managed to find these speakers then I can definitely say I'd recommend them.5/5 - I had a euro plug and UK plug in my box plus 1x Dual RCA to 3.5mm jack.

For just under £50 this system sounds fantastic. I got this to use at work and its total lack of distortion at any setting means I don't have to worry about what other users do to it. It is also much louder than it seems, because the lack of distortion means it doesn't get uncomfortable to listen to.

purchased in may and they sounded great but at the start of November they started to crackle. When I contacted Thonet and Vander Europe, they expect me to ship it to the united states! If you look at their adress it's true, they call themselves Thonet and Vander Europe and they are based in America. DODGY DODGY DODGY!

I had this product and was happy with it, just it had some power supply issue in the subwoofer and after completion of 2 years it completely stopped working. I guess it's just build for warranty period once it is over system stops working. The same issue I can see with other customer also about this product. If you want a system for longer period just buy something apart from this.

German make, was supposed to perform but the woofer failed, too much vibration returned the next day may be mine was just a one of such faulty so back to old trusted sony
