Convoluted keto
If you have kids, you're fine with dairy and you're American or used to American food then it might be a great book. But none of these recipes are remotely familiar comforting foods to a non-American. I thought it would be classic comfort dishes like lesagne or ratatouille.Recipes also use a lot of synthetic processed ingredients but I'm finding a lot of keto cooking is unnecessarily focused on introducing synthetic replacements.

Mouthwatering Recipes!
I now have most of Maria's books and they have absolutely changed my understanding and approach to the food we eat. She and her husband Craig do the most amazing job in bringing us the latest information on the way eating low carb can benefit each and every one of us. They share their research and help in the most simplistic and clear manner .... and the food is AMAZING. My husband does not follow my low carb way of eating, but this does not complicate our meals in any way....and he is always totally amazed at the food we eat, it really can be eaten by the whole family. As I now have most of her books I don't ever feel the need to look elsewhere when meal planning. A huge thank you to Maria and Craig for everything you have done and continue to do!

Fantastic addition to my Maria Emmerich collection
If you are new to ketogenic cooking or are looking for inspiration, this book will certainly hit the spot!! I love Maria's approach to keto cooking and her recipes have completely changed how I approach my own eating and how I feed my family. Buffalo Chicken casserole and 'cornbread' muffins sure hit the spot when a craving for restaurant-style bbq hit me hard a few days ago!!! Switching from years and years of traditional cooking to keto cooking is daunting at first and you will have hits and misses. With Maria's books, including Comfort Foods, I find the hits far outweigh any misses on my part.

Beautiful pictures! Some great recipes!
Updated!!! I just got this today in the mail. This is the 5th keto cookbook that I've ordered of Maria's.Things I love about the book:*has a brief intro at the beginning with some information about ingredients.*an intro about how to read the recipes (i.e - whether it is nut, dairy or egg free or whether there is an option to make it that way)*a couple of the recipes have the nutritional information for various ways of making it (ie. without the sauce)*every recipe has nutritional information plus a meter that tells if the recipe is Low Med or High ketogenic*beautiful pictures*a list of the recipes with pictures at the back of the bookAs I mentioned, this is the 5th book that I've purchased from this author and I've found no repeat recipes in this book (except the bone broth and keto buns) from any of the other books. In fact, I just made a Blue Cheese salad dressing which was delicious (from the Quick and Easy book) and there is a different Blue Cheese Dressing recipe in this book as well.I've already tabbed a bunch of the pages to make recipes in the near future. Some of the recipes that I've tabbed are:*Beef stew (delicious )*Scalloped Fauxtatoes (delicious - pic below))*Chicken and gravy cobbler*BBQ chicken lasagna*BBQ Pulled pork sandwiches with bacon slaw (Very good - I just added a low sugar bbq sauce to enhance the flavour)*Chicken Pot pies (delicious - pic below)*Schnitzel (delicious alternative to breaded - pic below)*Maple Bacon Icecream*Death by Chocolate Cheesecake*Clam Chowder (pic below)*BLT stuffed Mushrooms (pic below - delicious - I've been asked for the recipe by multiple people)
