In the interest of Federal Trade Commission guidelines and covering my legal bases, I got this book free of charge via my involvement in the O'Reilly Media Blogger Review Program. That said, this review is entirely my own opinion, after my reading of the book. Now, on to my review!People love to buy, but they hate to be sold to. This is the new truth of the sales world, and Win-Win Selling teaches you how to internalize that vital mantra.In this guide, you'll learn about a new approach to selling, the one where you stop being a salesperson and start being a partner to those you do business with.For me, the book definitely helps with that crucial change of mindset. As someone who's been sold to quite a few times in the past, I've found that this book would be a great read for those who ended up annoying me instead of making their hoped-for sale.Conversely, as someone who's looking to do business in the future, Win-Win Selling gave me the amazing strategies necessary to cultivate the right attitude to selling.In a nutshell, it teaches you to go back to your buyer, and to understand that the buyer should be foremost in your mind. It's a departure from the old needs-based era of sales, and I think it's the right approach as the world heads into its collective business future.Additionally, here's some more good news - this is not the sort of book that keeps you stuck in theories. Quite the opposite, it's filled with sample problems and solutions, to cover your bases when it comes to sales hiccups. It shows you the actual questions you need to ask your prospect, in addition to providing templates for things you need to prepare when proving your competence.I think, overall, that practical and tips-based nature is what makes this book a winner. Instead of filling your head with too many concepts, it gives you a set of principles and processes that you can customize based on your needs.In fact, that models the reminder of the book to tailor your solution to your buyer's specific problems and desires. Talk about consistency!That said though, I do highly recommend this book. It was written in a concise and informative manner, and at no point did I feel overwhelmed by too much information on one page. The sections and topics are also broken up naturally, which of course helped with the general readability of the work.All in all, I'm proud and thankful that I was able to read Win-Win Selling. The things it will teach you are definitely useful, so don't miss out!
