Fantastic mouse, worthless software.
As a fingertip gripper I immediately fell in love with this thing, a massive step up from my oversized G502. The mouse is light, glides easily, and nearly fits my hand perfectly. I say nearly because I feel like the second shoulder button is still a little bit farther away from my thumb than I would like. Otherwise it's a fantastic mouse for a fingertip grip user and it's not very expensive. However, I've had nothing but trouble with the profile software. At first I couldn't even download it because Cooler Master had apparently exceeded their bandwidth usage for that month! Now that I have the software I find it won't save any changes to my profiles and I can't adjust the lighting at all beyond static lights. Furthermore, it tells me that there's a firmware update available for the mouse, but when I try to download it the status updates with a big red X, which tells me absolutely nothing about what went wrong or how to fix it and so far my mouse's firmware remains updated.Bottom line, fantastic mouse, but the software creates a major problem because I can't fine tune it to my specifications.

Very Lightweight But Not the Best
It's lightweight, glides very easily, and has good response. I bought it back in November 2020 and now as of September 2024, it is double-clicking when I click once. That's a decent lifespan. However, it's difficult to clean given the honeycomb design, and given my eagerness to reduce wire clutter, I'm replacing it with a wireless mouse.

Great Mouse, Annoying Software Setup
I've bought this mouse three times. It's my favorite FPS mouse. It's a solid piece of gaming gear. But I've gotta be honest – getting the software up and running was a bit of a headache. Now, here's the thing: the software itself isn't too bad. Once I actually got it installed and figured out how to use it, I was able to customize the mouse settings to my liking. So, the software's potential is cool. But here's where the annoyance kicks in: updating and downloading the software was way more frustrating than it should be. It's like they made a simple process unnecessarily complicated. I had to jump through a bunch of hoops and deal with slow downloads before I could even start customizing the mouse. And it doesn't end there. Even after I got the software installed, there were some glitches with updates that made me scratch my head. I ended up spending more time than I wanted just trying to get everything sorted. But hey, here's the silver lining: once the software is up and running, it does its job pretty well. I can fine-tune the mouse settings, and it helps improve my gaming experience. So, in a nutshell, the Cooler Master MM711 Wilderness Edition mouse itself is awesome, and the software does what it's supposed to – but the process of setting it all up, especially updating and downloading, can be a real pain. If you're willing to put up with some frustration in the beginning, you'll likely end up with a mouse that adds some serious firepower to your gaming setup.
