Good liner, but didn't match our bucket
Although the image of the compost bin next to these liners looks like an older one we have, the liners did not fit. It is something with the edge and height. I'm going to find a use for them anyway. Maybe really big plant-starter pots? They are very nicely made. Or I could get the compost bin that they show with them. No, bad idea. We already have a very good set-up, as our town finally started curbside compost pick-up, and gave us some Canadian-made buckets. We can line them or not. A paper bag works. We are NOT to use any sort of plastic liners, not even those which say they are compostable.

This is a great product. The plastic container does not have to be used with it (and does not come with it). Mine broke and I am trying NOT to use plastic, so I didn't purchase another one. Since I have a backyard compost bin, I put a little newspaper liner in the bottom - keeping it longer. I avoid dumping liquids in it. And surprisingly, it's not smelly.

Judging from the photo, I assumed it came with a plastic lid. There was no lid in the box, so they are worthless to me. What I needed was something enclosed so I could store the waste in the kitchen before I grind it and put in my compost bin.

When it's 'ready to go' she just puts it into the compost and it becomes part of the organic waste that decomposes
I visited a friend who uses these bin liners and I'm eager to try them out. The liner absorbed the odor and leaks. She uses hers over and over again, by rinsing it out after dumping it into their backyard compost bin. When it's 'ready to go' she just puts it into the compost and it becomes part of the organic waste that decomposes. Our city sells the bins at a very reasonable price...maybe they'll start selling the liners too!

Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse!
Full disclosure - I am an environmentalist. That mean that I love products that encourage people to reduce, recycle, and reuse. And nothing is better for the Three R's than composting. My family uses Bin Buddy and they love it.

... these at a show and thought they were a great idea so I ordered 10 of them
Saw these at a show and thought they were a great idea so I ordered 10 of them. They didn't fit as good as i think they should so the lid on my compost bin wouldn't close properly/all the way. Certainly makes dumping the bin a lot easier and cleaner. After filling the bin buddy multiple times over the course of a week or so then the last time, I simply dump the bin buddy and contents into my composter . Hold liquids really well. If they fit perfectly in my bin, i would buy more.

Brilliant liners.
If you have the bin pictured in the photograph these liners fit perfectly. Keeps things very sanitary. Not much difference in price from the paper composting bags that are the alternative, but way less annoying to use.

A no-mess solution (for now)
I've been using the bin buddy for about a week now and like the no mess disposal of the organics, however wish that this product fit a bit better in my kitchen organics bin (the same one that is pictured). I find I can't properly close the lid. With that being said, we haven't had any leaks and I will likely continue using this product until I can find a bin/system that works better.

Meh. Not as sturdy as the Greenlid brand.
These bins are very thin so there's no reusing them for a longer period of time (max of 1.5 weeks until it must be changed), especially if you're putting wet foods in it. I tried the Greenlid before and thought these compost bins would be better since they sit in a sturdy compost bin with a tight lid, but I can see now that the Greenlid is made much better (it can actually hold wet foods). Don't know if I'd buy it again. I'm on the fence.
