This product is nearly identical to the reese brand hitch at less money. Let's be honest here and say if someone really wants to steal your trailer they will... All they need is to hook up the safety chains and drag it away without much difficulty. This is meant to be a fairly good deterrent, it keeps honest people honest. Let's be real there's no trailer lock of this type that is 100% safe. If you're completely worried about your trailer then keep it locked up in storage, buy a wheel chock lock and call it good. I don't think that anyone is too horribly concerned with stealing my $250 trailer, but nevertheless this is helpful.

I have bought over 50 of these to lock down trailers at a storage lot. They seem to work fine. They are more of a deterrent rather than "robber-proof".On my two very expensive trailers, I have something more secure.

Good deterrent to trailer theft at a reasonable price. If someone REALLY wants to steal your trailer, there's not much you can do about it, but this will make you less of a target than an unprotected trailer. This lock is well made and works well.

Kind of lightweight compared to the gorilla lock, and does not fit as well. Not wide enough does not fit well.
