Watercolor Painting Step by Step (Artist's Library)

I bought this to give to a friend who's talking about taking up watercolor painting. I included it with a sketchbook of watercolor paper and a starter set of paints and a brush. She loved the gift.

At first glance this book looked good. I am almost done painting the macaw and now I can say that the instructions are lacking. The book would be better if there were more detailed instructions and more photos showing the painting at intermediate steps. Before painting the macaw, I painted a landscape from a different step-by-step book and the instructions/photos in this other book were much better.

Good examples of how to paint in watercolor using a variety of techniques. My only complaint is the book is way too small for what Amazon charges. THIS BOOK IS ONLY 64 PAGES LONG !

Returned. I bought this because the Walter Foster pencil drawing books is fantastic. This, not so much. Lacks the detailed step by step I found in other books.

Excellent techniques to beginners to fall in love with watercolor and gain confidence. Totally recommended in any level you are.

This is a Christmas gift but I looked at it prior to wrapping it and was very impressed with the step by step instructions, tips and photos. Nice book.

Any level artist will benefit from this book. It is inspiring yet clear and factual. Another winner From Walter Foster art books. Every one I read is fantastic, and Amazon carries a good selection. Recommended
