Anonabox Anonabox PRO Wi-Fi Tor & VPN Router - Internet Privacy

I have a very mixed opinion on the Anonabox Pro.The Good: Once you get it up and running it’s great. You will have Tor and VPN running simultaneously for maximum privacy.FYI you can buy an open source $20 repeater/router and install Tor and your own VPNThe Bad: customer service and tech support is non-existent. The only means of communication they offer is email. No chat, no number to call. Be prepared to wait AT LEAST a week for the simplest of questions. I owned this product for 2 weeks before I could actually use it because of slow tech support on a sub par device. I am tech savvy and/or can figure out how to operate any hardware/software. The problem is the Anonabox Pro is stubborn out the box. The first unit I received was bricked. The second I had the reset multiple times before it would function correctly. I think the Anonabox has a glitch/problem saving your settings. I had to save the same settings and perform the same updates repeatedly before the Anonabox would finally take and maintain my adjusted settings. Back to the “tech support”. It’s terrible, the worst, they suck. I still haven’t gotten a reply from a question I emailed a week ago. This is my second time having to email them. The first time it took about a week, while emailing back and forth about some technical problems (this was on a Friday) the tech left me hanging and just took off for the weekend and I didn’t hear back to finish my tech help until late Monday, early Tuesday. They have no urgency when it comes to helping their customers, it’s like they don’t care because it isn’t their problem. It’s a shame because they could have something good here. For this reason I will never buy another product from this company and sill be returning this one. I would suggest looking for other brands that will better support you after the sale.***I resolved the issue I was having with my unit by myself because here we are 8 days later and I still haven’t gotten a reply for the issue I was having.

I am returning this product only because i feel like i got a dud from factory. When i opened the box i noticed it had some scratches on the side no big deal, as i am sure i would drop this thing once or twice. But then i noticed how immensely sluggish the GUI was and how every task was a very slow process even a simple connection took some time to start broadcasting before i could begin to use it. At the time of purchase there where no firmware updates. Yesterday i went to update the box and it totally bricked it i said no big deal ill just reset it right, well i then noticed the reset button was either broken or missing because there was nothing there for me to press. Refund time!!!I will probably give this item a second chance when they bring out VERSION TWO but they really need to work on that interface oooofff!Another great item that could of had great potential.

I stuck this downstream from an AP as a proof of concept to use as a part of my network. Everything connected to the AP was pretty much instantly on the VPN tunnel and TOR network without any client configs. Two thumbs up for that. The downside is it isn't stable and needs to be rebooted occasionally. This box has a strange reputation too. Some of my friends at work incorrectly thought you had to send it back for firmware updates. Weird. Anyway, it works fine when I need it. Just keep it in my bag.

I own two. One is a travel router. Don't live at home and don't leave home without one. This stuff puts TOR between it or your router and the bad guys. It has a built in router, but i find it is better to hook your router to it since the 802.x radio it comes with is a bit too weak for my standards.

This product is an interesting concept, but much of what it can do can be accomplished in better ways, especially if you aren't constantly traveling. It is compact, but I actually wasn't able to set up VyprVPN properly, although I'm sure it works. I ended up returning it because of the price vs benefit. If you HAVE to have something VERY compact, though, this is it.

I use it with VyprVPN and the Anonabox is a solid router. It rarely needs to be rebooted. It would be nice to have a more powerful signal but you could use a stronger access point behind it to reach farther.

Tor is definitely working fine and it does what it suppose to do.U would need to have a VPN connection tho, it's a bit slow if I didn't go with a VPN on top of Tor.

Directions were easy to follow and set up for both VPN and Tor including steps to verify Tor is running. It's incredibly tiny and very portable
