I am so glad that my neighbor's mulberry tree was brought down by a storm last year. In exchange for helping them clean up I got the tree. I have found many fabulous pieces hidden inside that bark. Some areas of the tree had deteriorated before it came down so there was a lot of "pre-spalted" material. The contrast between the tangled compex grain patterns of the heavily spalted heartwood with the bright clean smooth grained sap wood, really makes these pieces jump. 7.5 inches across and 6 inches tall, 18.8 oz, turned thin and highly polished, a real tactile and visual picnic. Danish oil finish.
