Pro Series DC-C81B Aluminum Photo/Video Hard Shell Case w/Shoulder Strap, Lock & Key (Black/Silver)

I hardly ever review products on here but had to strongly caution others from buying this case. I just received mine half an hour ago and am livid that I already have to return it. The product description states "Constructed from reinforced aluminum", but this is most certainly NOT the case, which became apparent when the case fell apart the very first time I closed it with equipment inside. I am not exaggerating when I say it took virtually no effort for the top panel to push out of its frame, which you can see in the photos. There doesn't appear to be any glue or screws holding it (or rather, failing to hold it) in place. Furthermore, you can now see that the panels are not aluminum, but actually thin pressboard with black vinyl lamination. I don't know how this would ever hold up to actual use -- it didn't even make it from lying flat on my table before coming apart! Now it becomes my problem to package this back up and bring it to a UPS center for shipping, when in fact it should just be thrown in the trash.

The ad description is misleading. This is not an aluminum case. It is thin press board with aluminum corner reinforcements. That being said, it has served me well. I use it to haul around my R/C transmitter and 16 batteries from my car to the field and back and then home. No issues. Still sturdy. For the guy whose case came apart, a little shoe goo would more that fix the problem. This is not a throw around, bang around case, but for the money it does the job. In fact, if the case had not been advertised as an aluminum case; I may have given it a 5 star rating.
