I love this book!!!!
I saw there was a book-signing for this at my local comic book shop but I didn't want to wait in line, I wish I had though. The author looks bonkers he was wearing a black cape! This thing is so funny and clever, I loved every second of it. There are so many little jokes and tiny details that make it a joy to dig through and find them all. Everyone needs to learn about science and the singularity, and this is the best place to start. I guess technically this is a kid's book but really it is for everyone, it doesn't condescend it just explains what is otherwise complex science in a very straightforward and easy to understand way. They should teach a class on this in schools.!

An important and amazing book. It's not often we get a picture book about a modern child's longing for the future. Which might scare the older generations...The boy's sense of urgency to merge with technology makes this an engaging read. The drawings are delightful and the boy's relationship to the robot is portrayed so well.Reminds me of Raymond Briggs' picture book (when the wind blows) about nuclear disaster. This picture book is a perfect medium to realise the world has changed forever.

Wow I loved this book so much
Wow I loved this book so much! The artwork is gorgeous. Its the perfect book for anyone who wants to learn more about nanotechnology and the singularity in a super fun way. It's like everything you would see at comic-con as told by Dr. Seuss, the rhymes are so funny and charming and there are sneaky little star wars, superhero and sci- fi jokes hidden around on every page. It would be great for motivating kids to learn about science and it has really positive message.

Super fun science book for ages 10-110!!!
I love everything to do with robots and science, and Star Wars and the singularity. So when i saw this adorable book i had to snap it up. It's going to be the perfect stocking stuffer for Christmas. I'am getting a copy for everyone in my family and my friends too. It's the kind of book you want to sit down with someone to see how many of the little secrets you can find hidden in each page. My favourite page is 27 with all the library books ,it's so inspirational they should turn it into a poster and hang it up in every classroom.

This is quite possibly one of the worst "kids" books I've ever read
This is quite possibly one of the worst "kids" books I've ever read. The rhymes are forced, distracting, lame and, quite frankly, offensive. I had to stop reading to my child on page 6 after such simplistic / angry rhymes like "these gadgets suck; might as well be 1015 / where the hell is my jetpack? I want my ray gun too" and "...you can't wait to kick ass/punch us and kick us, turn us into biomass". I am seriously not even joking. These are direct quotes from a book geared (supposedly) to kids 8+. My child stopped me Two pages in and said the kid in the book reminded him of the bratty I-want-it-now-daddy, Veruca Salt, from Willy Wonka (except she was actually Totally Funny and entertaining!) I read the rest of the book myself before writing the review and it is So simplistic I don't know how it could even appeal to a teenager. Nano technology is fascinating but you won't get any exciting info from this book. It doesn't even gloss the surface. The storyline, in a nutshell, is "robots are jerks. No wait! They're cool. And tiny ones are gonna be extra cool. Just wait." Ummm so that's it??

Beautifully drawn and creatively written -- this book is for "kids" of all ages. I "caught" one of my older kids reading it my toddler -- I've never seen that before.

For the big kids at heart and the next generation
I am a big kid at heart and I am also a deep thinker who is constantly wondering what is next in regards to technology and innovation and what this world will be like for the future generations. These are just two reasons why I enjoyed the book - it was like reading a cool comic book or children's book for adults. The words were expressive and illustrations transported you to another world and made you think about what the future would be like as shown through the gadget loving hero and his new robotic friend's discussion. In this day and age technology is updated so regularly and it can be scary but also exciting for the human race. As a filmmaker I could also relate to references to Scfi films that were thrown in, which reflect the authors own film background. Some words to describe this book - Clever, curious, fun, colourful and relevant. Great illustrations too and an original story. A must read.
