Just tried these bad boys out today! I was low and slow cooking some beef back ribs in my big green egg for a few hours. After they were done I bumped up the heat to throw on some steaks. I used the gloves to remove the heat deflector as well as grab the cast iron grate with no hesitation. These gloves worked great. Didn't feel any sort of heat whatsoever. Glad I bought these because with the big green egg you need to be gentle as everything is ceramic. I was able to pull stuff right out of the hot egg which had been on for 5 hours and change it out to start to grill up the steaks.

I like these gloves. I have some good silicone gloves that work great, but have a tendency to transfer heat a bit too quickly to my hands. For handling hot food, the silicone gloves are perfect. For handling the hot ceramics, etc on my Big Green Egg, these work better.

These SPD Gloves fit well for for my hands which I usually have a hard time since I need Men's XXL size. Easy to put on and take off. I felt no heat from wearing these gloves while BBQ with a Smoker holding hot pans or hot wood chips which were cooking at 350 degrees for several hours. Even though the Smoker has some moisture in it with a water pan and being heated by propane, never had any issues with these gloves working inside the Smoker.

needed these for the steel mini grill - setting that grill on a glass stove top to grill - It will slide around - these glove can be used as a pad without sticking your hand in the glove -

Compared to my old cooking mits - these are amazing. Not only did it give me heat protection but now I have dexterity as well. I wasn't expecting the one size fits all thing to work - but there is loads of room. I will try them on the BBQ next .....

I was burning my hands while cooking, baking, barbecuing these gloves are tremendous for that! They are fairly bulky but they do provide excellent protection.

Love these gloves, they allow me to handle very hot meat for a short time. I wish they had a loop to hang them up with.

I loved this item. I was able to lift my Turkey from my Green Egg and deliver it to my table still wrapped in the aluminum foil.

I bought these to use with my wood burning stove and so far so good, although I've only been using them for nine days. They are thick and sturdy and will hopefully last longer than the original glove which came with the stove. That glove burned or melted at the finger tips and there was almost nothing left of the thumb and forefinger because of the heat from the knobs for adjusting the air flow. Also, sparks from the fire when adding wood caused the glove to burn but so far this hasn't happened to the new gloves and I feel confident when using it (I only use on one hand). I haven't picked up hot logs inside the fire so I don't know how the gloves would cope with contact on a burning log. If they need adjusting I use a poker.The gloves wouldn't be any use to me for barbecuing as they are a bit big for my small hands but my husband tried them on and they fit him. It's not what I wanted them for so it doesn't matter to me.EDITED 11 months later.The glove (just one used for the stove) has been well used and has some orange singe marks on a couple of fingers (hardly surprising) but hasn't burnt through. The cuff comes over my wrist and I've been able to confidently put my hand in the fire to adjust a log. I wish I'd bought them years ago.

Initial thoughts seem to be very good.Well made, durable, they are large! Not for anyone with small hands.I experimented by holding a boiling hot saucepan by the bottom which had been in the stove for about 15 minutes. As described I started to slowly feel warmth but well and truly protected my hands.

Got these to replace some old style nomex gloves and the silicon pads on these gloves really do help. I have only experienced a slight over warming at the tips of my thumbs and fingers when lifting items out of the oven but non of the heat that was felt with the old style. Good gloves

These gloves are pathetic, you can feel the heat within a second or so when you do anything inside the BBQ.The people who are giving these gloves a high rating have clearly never had a decent pair of gloves before.

These gloves have revolutionised my life. No more burnt and blistered hands from a bit oven and no more burnt tea towels. They do what they claim. I can take pans straight from the oven without getting burnt. Best but I have made all year.
