Animal Totem Tarot

I absolutely adore this deck. I've been shopping around for my first Tarot deck for quite some time, and finally settled on this one. Some things I like about it:1) The quality of both the book and the printing/coating of the deck is gorgeous2) I was looking for a deck that didn't have overly positive imagery, but at the same time traditional RW deck imagery can be upsetting to me (i.e. The Hanged Man) in such a way that distracts me from the meaning of the cards. This deck definitely has some darker images (The capybara and raccoon dog cards come to mind) but it's not as, well, triggering, for lack of a better word.3) The art is incredible. The colors are bright but earthy, the backs of the cards are equally as pretty as the fronts, and the integration of the actual symbols (pentacles, wands, swords, cups) into the imagery in a organic way is extremely compelling4) Which brings me to point 4: I love the guide book-image pairing. This deck was really, really well thought out. I wanted a deck that was not just pretty but meaningful. I liked how non-abstract the images are. It makes the readings feel natural and grounded. I like that the meanings in the guide book are really focused on taking wisdom from the natural world.Highly recommend!

however the book and the interpretations are very much more for possibly pre-teens and i do not want to insult any younger people reading this review. the cards are worth the book. i needed the book to identify some of the animals like the bower bird. however the insights built into the visuals make it more than worth buying the book which is the only way to buy the cards. my only complaint? at least one card should have featured Samoyedes! also black widows are not orb weavers but in a web they look so ravishing so forgiven. however reindeers on the tamyry peninsula didn't give a hoot about santa but theywere only safe when herded by the samoyed dog who often was also left alone with the human children so both human parents could be out hunting and gathering. samoyeds also being a supreme source of warmth at night. sampyeds also were the first canine to access the south pole, that is the ones who escaped admundsen's tail cutting tails interfered with the harness and reins but that is another card. quite the wonderful deck. the high priestess rocks!

Love the deck, very quick delivery and as described. The cards are a nice thickness and the book is very helpful or he meanings!

I had a reading done for me with this deck and fell in love with it. That was the deciding factor in expanding my knowledge and use solely from oracle cards into tarot as well. I still very much love this deck, but I quickly realized it’s not for tarot beginners like myself. I’m now doing double duty memorizing all traditional tarot meanings as well as all the featured spirit animal meanings. As someone new to tarot, the guidebook is incredibly difficult to find the card I’m looking for, so I had to add some dandy quick-find tabs. Overall, this deck feels GOOD. I really enjoy it, but right now I’m working extra hard to be well-versed enough to share its gift by doing readings for others.

I hope to use these cards and the book for my own Tarot readings on YouTube. I will of course have my own interpretations too, but I love spreading positivity and good vibes.

This is a GORGEOUS deck. Each card is borderless and unique. Every single card has it's own, individual illustration, there are no shortcuts taken here. This comes in a sturdy box, with a robust guidebook. The suiting and archetypes are made easy to remember through association with animal types, so this deck is beginner friendly. The cardstock is of sturdy weight, and could withstand heavy use if it's the only deck you have access to.

This is a wonderfully well thought out and inspired tarot deck. I was surprised the animals and artwork are completely based on the foundation of the Rider-Waite deck. I don't agree with the meaning given for every card in the book, but the particular animals chosen for the cards is spot-on with only an exception or two, and that is my own subjective interpretation because the author and I disagree on how we use those couple of cards. This is a sophisticated deck, a meditative deck, a thoroughly usable and beautiful deck.The cardstock is not as good as I'd like it to be, but it isn't really flimsy. The artwork and colors are beautiful, the detail in the art pulls me in and offers delightful surprises.Very pleased with this purchase. All the plusses pretty much wipe out that the cardstock isn't up to my standard. It isn't lightweight enough to loose a star, what with all the other good stuff.

This is a really great animal tarot deck, the art work is great & there are some adorably cute animals in this deck! The book is great as well! I highly recommend this deck! If it’s calling your name definitely buy it!!

The Queen of Pentacles is the reason why I bought this deck. I love pigs, they are very intelligent, affectionate and cheeky. They love to play and they love their babies (like most animals do, cows included). The cards measure 10.7cm x 7cm and the book is very well made. Please check all the photos that I've taken. This two star rating is for Amazon. Paid for a new deck received a used one. Not happy about this at all! At least a discount should be offered to me.

The images are beautiful and the cards are a decent size. However, the card quality really let's them down. Mine came slightly bent and when shuffling they stick and don't slide like they should. So unfortunately I cannot give more than 2 stars.

Accompanied by a great book, this deck is jam-packed with detailed imagery. Unfortunately, I’ve knocked off one star because I feel like the card stock isn’t good- very thin and a little too flexible for me.

My absolute favourite cards. And I have a few decks.. Card stock could be better but the imagery is just Amazing.
