Love product, not the new dispenser cap
I did not take one star off for the cap. I am never sure if that is fair. Perhaps it's just me that finds it annoying and difficult albiet more sanitary and product saving. The new cap seemed really awesome at first glance. Actually, I wasn't sure how to open the lid. You know the eyeshadow compacts you buy that you can't figure out where to press or what to flip and break a fingernail in the process? Well, this is the same. Thought I'd never get it open!!Plus it takes a very hard squeeze to open this center ring that elevates out of the middle (like a stage at Super Bowl half-time where up pops the perfomer). I have arthritis and grip strength issues and find this tube hard to squeeze (think old drying toothpaste tube). It has this center platform that pops up to dispense cream then goes back flat so no small blebs to dry out. The whole lid containing this platform is hard plastic. Hard as in cracks if dropped. I don't remember dropping my tube and an edge of the top lid has broken off so it doesn't snap shut anymore. I have not travelled with it. That may be problematic.About the product (once you get to it!)....I love the cream! In summer I have combo sensitive skin. In winter, it is dry and sensitive/reactive.I have been told I might have rosacea. Only once, about one month ago, did I get three bumps that itched then became a whitehead after a particularly red inflamed central face. I have an appt. with a derm.I was using La Roche-Posay Toleriane Gentle Dermo-Cleanser (200ml) 6.76 Fluid Ounces and Personal Care - La Roche Posay - Toleriane Soothing Protective Skincare (Normal to Comibination Skin) 40ml/1.35oz in late Oct. Our weather went from damp and hot to very dry and cold.My skin started getting flame red reactive on my cheeks around my nose.Something new is making it worse. I did not think it was the Toleriane but I wanted to find something for more reactive skin.I found the creamy Toleriane cleanser that required water to rinse off to be too labor intensive, counter-soaking and skin-stripping.I hunted for the most sensitive, fragrance-free, chemical-fee, gluten free products fro my hair, face and body.I also wanted a cleanser+cream for more reactive allergic red but without rosacea green tint remedy or any fragrance or herbs.I also check the Envrionmental Working Group Skin Sense website for scary or toxic ingredients.I use Avene's Extremely Gentle Milky Cleanser for hypersensitive and irritable skin for AM/PM cleanse and to remove make-up .I follow with this and Avene's sensitive eye cream. This cream leaves a soft silky surface ready for make-up, even BB/CC's that tend to be greasy. This absorbs beautifully without residual greasiness I find with Toleriane.I love the way my skin feels. I like that there is no added redness from using this product and it may actually decrease the inflammation without adding herbs, oatmeal or salicylic acid-things I cannot tolerateI am fighting this weird dry roughness on my chin, jawline and outer cheeks. I use a Clarisonic Mia Sonic Skin Cleansing System, Pink w/ Clarisonic Replacement Brush Head (Sensitive) once weekly to exfoliate whatever it is and follow with this. My skin does't like the Mia any more frequently. This cream does a pretty good job of softening these rough patches w/o exfoliation but does better with the Clarisonic. There is NO addtl redness from this product. My skin is soothed and silky. I really love it. I use this on my neck and decolletage as well. The tube is small but it takes about a pea-size for my face.I suggest you watch Avene's video on how to cleanse sensitive skin and apply moisturizer. It seems a tad dramatic but if you want to avoid causing more irritation, it is the right way to do it.Made me feel guilty I had not been as gentle or conscientious as I read that women are in other cultures/countries ( e.g.France, Japan) re my daily "toilette" and skin care.Better late than never to be as kind and gentle to my already inflamed skin. This skin cream is a wonderful integral part of decreasing redness and making my skin smooth, silky and wonderful to the touch.

Not bad!
I normally use Aveeno Baby Fragrance Free, but thought I'd try this. Someone told me it helped with red skin. Here are my results.PRO:While it did not lessen the redness in my skin, it certainly did not make it worse. It is perhaps one of the best moisturizers I have used.It is not greasy, but kept my face moist all day. (My face felt dewy, if that makes sense.) It's also did not irritate my extra sensitive skin! For those with oily skin, this may be too much moisture for you. It is very thick like a cold cream. It is PERFECT for dry skin!Aveeno works just as well on my face for $5.00 a tube which lasts me FOREVER! And I use it daily in the a.m. and p.m. However, Aveeno does not leave my face feeling dewy like this product does. I like the dewy look and feel-- mind you, I'm not speaking of looking and feeling greasy.CON:THE TUBE IS AWFUL!!!!The tube's top makes it difficult to control the amount you squeeze out. I've wasted about 1/5 of the contents because too much came out. Also, when you get to the last bit, it's hard to get it out, due to the shape and style of the tubing. When you roll it up to squeeze the last bit out, it makes it almost impossible to get it out. Then when it does, it rushes out in excess!! I will have to cut the tube open to get the last bit of contents in it, which is 2-4 uses. Also, it leaves your face soooo moist that after a couple hours it "captured" my mascara and left raccoon eyes from when I blinked or looked down. This caused me to lightly rub under my eyes often to get the mascara off. Perhaps if I wore powder or base make-up that would correct it???FINAL THOUGHT:I will say, unless I have extra money to spend on moisturizer, I will stick to my Aveeno for day-to-day use. I will keep this product for special occasions when I need the extra moisture boost and the dewy affect. If the cost goes down, I will switch over to this product.

absolutely great
I had serious allergy around my right eye, the reasons for which were never understood. I feared any cosmetics, even water from our city water-supply that comes from some pond (yap). A friend (MD) suggested I try this product. I was not convinced, feared the chemistry in ingredients that I did not understand, and first tried it on my hands, then slowly 'progressed': chin, face, then around my eyes. It is absolutely great. I do not know what I would do without it. My skin is oily, but this product softens my skin and keeps my pores somehow open, so as a result zits appear more rarely than ever before, and heal quicker. It is fine enough for around the eyes, too. It has NO preserving chemicals - but stays in good shape because it uses an innovative cream-releasing method, so that the remaining contents stay sterile, without any air penetrating into the tube. I was puzzled how to use it hen I opened it, but one gentle squeeze releases just enough of it, and a small central 'tap' quickly get back into its place to seal the rest. I plan to keep using this product as long as they make it - thanks, Avene!

I have been using the origional version of this cream for about 2 years Avene have now changed the ingredients significantly this has changed from a good cream for sensitive skin to a heavy almost medical grade type of cream only suitable for post skin proceedures dont put it anywhere near your eyes. There is only one review on the Avene website which is again one star. The ingredient list and the packaging photo has not been updated on amazon ,it still shows the old version of this cream however the new version is sent.

After much research (trawling through reviews and forums!) I decided to order this cream the cleanser and repair cream all together to see if I revamped my skincare routine would it help with my skin flare ups , in short it definitely has and I won't use anything else for at least six months to see if it is truly the creams/cleanser etc..that is making the difference. Reasonably priced too. I ordered it from Landys chemist and they were brill.

I used to suffer from terrible dry skin
Has changed my skin's life! I used to suffer from terrible dry skin, and also had a bad bout of perioral dermatitis. This cream, despite being so light, has been a miracle cure. I used to wash my face and once the water had been dried off it my face felt so dry it could crack. Now the natural oils have completely gone back to normal from using this - the cream is just amazing.

Nice but not good for me.
This is a nice cream feels nice but for myself it left my skin very oily looking. After a few hours my face is shiny and have to keep wiping my face. The product itself is nice but far to oily for my skin to use. I think it would recommend those who suffer with very dry skin , as my face is not normally oily mostly sensitive that was the reason i bought it but no good as it just leaves me very oily.

Awesome cream! Soothes itchy skin really well
Awesome cream! Soothes itchy skin really well! Moisturizes skin very well, but does not leave greasy. Very good for eczema. The package is very inconvenient though! It gets stuck and you can get only huge amount when it finally comes.
