Fantastic!
I have needed one of these for YEARS but never pulled the trigger so to speak. Always found a way to get by without one. Honestly, if you are working with magnetic steel pipe or other ferrous round shapes and you are mitering, or drilling, or need to "index" that shape around its longitudinal axis by "X" degrees then this is a terrific time saver. This thing is very high quality. The magnets are absolutely superb and STRONG. The punch doesn't fall out of mine, even when inverted. The small size is PERFECT for 2-3/8" OD pipe and would easily work probably up to 6". The punch is for light marking only. Don't be one of those guys with a 5-lb hammer smacking this thing. Tap the punch with a small hammer and then if you need a deeper mark, use a real center-punch. People who ruin punches like this are the same people who ruin the tips on brand new sharpies the first time you lend your new Sharpie to them. You know who you are. Shame on you ;) I own many "Jackson" brand things and I considered buying the Jackson version of this, but trust me; buy this brand. Phenomenal product. PRO TIP: Lets say you are using this to layout 45° miters on both ends of a pipe. Let's say you are making a "top dead center" mark and you are using that mark to position the miter template so you can trace around the pipe. If you are mitering both ends of the pipe, how do you make sure the miters are in the exact same orientation while being on opposite ends of the pipe? Its simple. When you mark "top dead center", make sure you use the punch on BOTH sides of where the cut line will be so that after you make the cut you still have an index point on the part you are keeping as well as an index point on the "drop" piece which will also be mitered.

pipe-fitting?
I own both the small and standard sizes and think that they are both great tools. Flange wizard makes some good quality tools. The small size is suitable for most pipe sizes. The standard is good for big-bore pipe. What I like the most about these as compared with the curv-o-mark are the magnets. They keep the center punch from sliding out and on to the floor as well as holding the head to the pipe (unless you're working on stainless). It comes in handy if you are mitering pipe in a horizontal band saw if you can center your side of pipe after you flip it around to cut the other side. Trying to do all of the necessary things to make this happen with a non-magnetic centering head was quite a pain and I still can't believe I never broke one.

Easily set angles and mark centers using center punch. Large clear bubble vile. Was delivered quickly and was packaged well. Using the form-fitting package to store the tool in my toolbox safely.

Pricey but worth it if you are OCD
I'm a hobby welder and make mailbox post kits on the side. This is a bit of an indulgence for me but it is nice to take all the guesswork out of the exact center of the pipe. Magnets are surprisingly strong.
