I don't know why i am so tenacious
I've done this 7 times now (only recently hatched large numbers)... Can end up fairly expensive for a pet with a 50day lifespan(tops). But I'm raising the rating to 5 stars because I feel like this is an unique experience and maybe more of a learning experience than a quick pet, like sea monkeys. Hoping to see eggs on my 3wk old soon. And because i just can't quit, I'm actually buying more. My most recent kit has hatched 16 viable babies and it's day 4.I start them in bottled water in a gallon bell jar with a small heater, air stone, and snails to keep the tank clean.At 1/2inch, i move them to a 5 gallon using a turkey baster designated for the shrimp tank.Photos including measurements...

Throw away the instructions, research online, be successful at raising triops.
They hatch, but the directions don't really.... Work. Throw away the stones that come with it, and the instructions. Go read the triops forum for hatching instructions. If you follow the instructions in the kit, your triops won't live past a couple days old.

Three attempts at hatching them. All failed.
Got these after having successfully raised one generation of Ghost Triops. Unfortunately, these guys never came close to their cousins' 60 day lifespan.Attempt 1 at hatching: I used Evian water, just like I did with the ghosts. Never hatched.Attempt 2: dried the sand and soaked in Poland Springs water (recommended by Toyops). Hatched 16, 100 hours after pouring the water. All died by the third day. Some people recommend not feeding the larvae for the first 72 hours, and I think following that advice may have killed them.Attempt 3: I wasn't even trying to hatch anything! I just put in some unhatched eggs in filtered, treated tap water. Against all logic and reason, 5 larvae hatched in under 20 HOURS. I followed instructions on how to feed them, but unlike the Ghosts, Racing Triops don't seem to be as ravenous. I'm not making this up: THESE GUYS SWAM AWAY FROM EVERY FOOD ITEM I'd try to give to them. They would swim away from the baby powder, they would touch the food pellets and freak out... Wouldn't eat carrots nor lettuce. I'd be constantly removing uneaten food from the hatching dish. Eventually the last of my triops died at day 10. It never touched anything I fed it.If I ever try this again, I'm going back to Ghost Triops.

Instructions that worked for me listed below (marks shrimp tanks look him up on YouTube)
Well if your hoping every pack to work no my sea monkey barley work half the time like expected I usually get one or 2 troops or monkeys but if your diligence is good and you perceiver these things are great cheep easy to set up they need a lot of food in the beginning stages so I put sliced thin carrots and boiled egg shell crushed not ground if you fallow the instructions below you should get more than 1 (possibly every pack is different sens there living animals and cannibals)So 1 R O water2 add the pebals 1 per qt3 add a pinch of the green food to promote ecosystem growth4 let sit for 24 hrs b4 adding any thing else5 add 1/3 to 1/2 of the eggs and put a lamp over it about 8 inches up wait 24 to 48 hrs add carrot slice and boiled crushed egg shell**** (do not grinde the shells up dust can kill your kriters I have seen it cover up gills in there feet and then dead in a day ) the gills are in there feet hense y they swim upside down just below the surface it's a survival trick for when the water drys up (no they don't bite they are really tame

They grow really fast, and they are cute little fish crustaceans

Not sure what makes it hard for them to hatch... But they are super cool to watch!
Only one of these hatched in the first order, reordered the keep the kids happy eggs and had only 4 of them hatch. They lived about 3 weeks and grew rapidly. My students were very excited and interested in them.

Disappointment =(
I've hatched triops before, so this isn't the first time. I followed the directions to the T. Buying natural spring water, prepping it with limestone and letting it sit 24 hours. Then prepping the dish and putting it under light, with a constant temp. But still no triops =(. I also bought the ghost triops from the same company, and did the same thing. And now for a refund, I have to send back the empty boxes to the seller?

Didn’t work this time :-(
I purchased this item twice for my classroom. Both times they didn’t hatch. My students are so bummed! I’ve purchased these before with no problems. Upside, I was refunded for one purchase but I was past the date to request a refund for the other one. At least this is a reputable seller.

Great item as starter pets for the kids. Mine all died off over night on week 3. Not sure why but still awesome.
