Like any reasonable person in the 21st century
Update: May 2018I've had this over a year and it's still working great! The adhesive hasn't budged and the mechanism of sliding still works perfectly. I'm always glad to have it on there when I remember the surveillance people living inside my computer. I'm also glad for it when I see classmates who have stuck stickers or tape over their cameras. Mine just looks AND works so much better!Original Review: April 2017Like any reasonable person in the 21st century, I am extremely paranoid about the amorphous menace that lives in the internet and is probably watching me via my devices when I don't know it. I used to hand-wave this away, and then one day I noticed the little light on my webcam lit up even though I hadn't opened FaceTime in months. Probably no one was spying on me, but ever since then I've kept a little something covering the webcam. Previously it was washi tape, but I finally decided to upgrade to these when I was buying them anyway as a birthday gift. The set of 3 was much more economical than buying them individually, so I went with it.I was worried that it would be too bulky or interfere with the laptop closing, but it doesn't. It's really a very tiny little thing--it fits on a fingertip. The adhesive seems to be the right strength to stay on easily but not take half the finish with it if you want to remove it or if you need to reposition it during application. It hasn't budged since I put it on about a week ago.The little disk slides easily back and forth and completely covers the camera lens. When you open the camera you see nothing but black; slide it over and there you are! Make sure to be at a flattering angle, lest you startle yourself.I put one on mine, one on my son's, and gave the third to a friend as a birthday gift. Each one went on smoothly, operates perfectly, and makes Foucaultian paranoia just a little bit more convenient.

They look so nice and so functional.
I really quite like these. I got a 3 pack, used them on my Kindle Fire, Surface Pro 4 and my HP G3 laptop at work. They are much nicer looking than a sticker, piece of tape, or a little piece of post-it note.I do see others complaining about how the install is hard because it's small, but smaller is better for me in this case, it blends right in, and I havent had any trouble with the outline eclipsing the cam view when it's on. It looks just like it belongs. The one thing that I can see as being an issue is that I don't think that the adhesive is strong enough and although it hasn't slid around much for me I'm not hard on them at all, so I wonder about those who would be more active with their tech toys. I definitely think it would be a waste for my younger ones, I don't think they would last a week on one of my teenagers smart phones the way they slide them in and out of their pockets constantly.~~~~ Update~~~~ I was contacted directly and offered a refund due to my criticism about the adhesive, which although was appreciated, I wasn't fishing for nor did I take the refund. I am thankful for the personal attention and the ethical offer to "make things right"

Avoid this product for laptop use if your machine has an thin bezel and the webcam is mounted "under the screen"
A quick summary of my specific issue for prospective laptop usage...If you have a laptop where the webcam IS NOT mounted into a plastic bezel, IS mounted under the screen (setup for many higher end machines) and the lid/screen closes flat with little to no gap against the keyboard... I do NOT recommend this product (at all)Although I didn't have issues with the adhesive like many others, if you search "cracked" in the reviews you'll find a few of us are having an issue with the product damaging laptop screens.Since it's a very small part and I have fat(ish) fingers, I installed the cover with tweezers to make it so I could see where it was going to stick. Looked good once it got set (aka better than tape or a post-it) and was very easy to "slide" with my thumb while holding the screen with one hand. That was in the morning before I walked out the door to go to a client's office. In 1hr of sitting in a padded pocket of my bag, in a laptop sleeve, this little device created enough pressure on the screen to crack the digitizer layer of my touch screen from top to bottom. It wasn't packed tightly and there was no bouncing or jostling which would have put any extra focus on my laptop during this time.In my case, it looks like this issue stems from my laptop not having the webcam located in the plastic bezel around the screen, rather the camera lens is "embedded" under the screen (it's a higher end ultrabooks with an edge-2-edge screen). Depending on how the laptop closes, the minor "bump" created by the webcam cover (which is hard plastic) put enough stress on the edge of the screen (because it's over the top of the camera lens) where there is little flexibility/forgiveness in the material, causing the screen to "crack" from top to bottom. In my case, it just cracked the digitizer so the laptop is usable, but touch and stylus function is dead. If there were matching "feet" to go at the edges of the screen on both sides making it so the lid shut evenly all the way across, this probably would not have happened, but it did, so out for repair the laptop goes.Based on all of the positive feedback, it doesn't sound like this happens to many laptops or phones, so it sounds like it's specific to the type of screen + webcam setup you have.
