Me ĂŠquivoque

Accuracy is the most important quality for this type of product.
I keep this by our microwave oven so that I may check the food temperature. Usually the temperature is well over the recommended 165 degrees F. so I am pleased.

You get what you pay for
Being the price and features that this device included like the laster and different unit measurements it seemed great. The problem I have with the unit is I was planning on using it for powder coating since the powder I cook requires cooking for 18 minutes after reaching 375 degrees. I however found out that it is about 20 degrees off when it comes to humans which it specifically said it wasn't meant for but it only broadens how far it misses the higher I go. For the price this device can be used mildly but if you need somthing that is accurate within 20 degrees I would suggest adding a little extra money and upgrading.

It's a nifty tool for the unconventional hot process soap maker
I often use infrared thermometers for my Hot process soap making, as it allows me to capture the temperature of what batch I'm making without having to repeatedly lifting the lid to the pot. This nifty little sucker is a lifesaver. I recorded the temps accurately, even after I dropped it. I will be ordering more in the future. Word of advice, the instructions were printed with very small don't, so take the time to use proper light to read it.

Love Love Love
Works Great. Used the BTMETER BT-9800 to check the temp in fridge. Found one side of fridge was colder than the other. That might be why my milk would go bad when it has small amount left. Moved milk to colder side fixed that problem. Has not gone bad since.Used on bbq to check temp. I checked my air conditioner vents to see the temp of each vent. Plus an infinity other uses.Easy to use easy to read easy to store away.Recommend highly.

Easy to Use
Purchased the thermometer to support an elementary school science project where a quick and easy temperature measurement was needed while not disturbing the experiment. In terms of a high-precision instrument, I'd estimate an accuracy of +/- 2 degrees Celsius and a repeatability and reproducibility of about the same.I intend to use this for other household temperature measurements. For example, I see an application of use for making homemade candies.

Not accurate
When reviewing this I compare it with my previous temp gun, which was orange and cost around a tenner.Today I returned the BTMETER as I found it giving a 2 degree Celcius higher reading compared to the reading given by a lab grade Mercury meter. 2 degrees might not be noticeable for most folks, but for reasons best known to myself I have to have an absolute, spot on reading. I don't consider a +-2 degrees read-out reliable or satisfactory.Compared to my previous temp gun, which I had given away and now needed to replace, I found the reaction time to be slow . By that I mean the time from activating the gun to the point where it finally yielded a reading.I found the trigger to be unnecessarily stiff to press. The gun rattled when moved which I found irritating. The fact that it needs a 9V battery is also a hassle as that battery type is not one usually have a little stack of.
