Light and perfect for deck or sidewalks
Great lightweight tool for cleaning deck. I was sick of using a broom and trying to move everything around the deck to sweep. This solves it! Now I just blow off leaves, dirt, pollen, bird seed, even light fluffy snow in seconds! I blow off the front deck and large back deck in one battery charge with some charge left. I then store battery in charger so it’s ready for next day. My husband’s leaf blower is way too heavy. This is not designed to blow leaves in yard. Makes my chores so easy!

Good when used in the right situations
Please don't expect a lot of blowing power from this sweeper but it has useful applications if you understand what it is capable of. It's called a sweeper, not a leaf blower, for a reason. Think of it as a battery operated broom that you will use for outdoor clean ups that you would normally use a broom on. It won't replace an electric or gas blower but if you only intend to blow dry grass clippings, leaves, dirt and light debris from hard surfaces (patios, sidewalks, garage, driveway, etc), you will be satisfied. This is perfect for quick light clean ups, covering a smaller area. I use it as an alternative to my electric blower when I only need to do light blowing after mowing the lawn or moving debris from the garage. Dealing with the extension cord can be a pain and gas blowers can be a pain as well with mixing the gas/oil, so this comes in handy to save some time for smaller duties. One of the biggest benefits is it's smaller and very light weight, so anyone can use it and is useful if you want to blow some debris or spider webs that are overhead. If you only need to complete light tasks this does the job well, but for larger jobs and blowing debris that is heavier or on grass, you'll need an electric or gas blower. Battery life is decent but if your clean up will take longer than 15 minutes, you'll need a spare battery. The batter life lines up with what this sweeper is meant for....smaller jobs. Just have the right expectations for this sweeper and you'll probably like it.

20V MAX System is good, but this sweeper is a joke
I've got several Black & Decker tools which use the 20V Max battery system which I'm happy with. I got this sweeper in May 2019 to add to that collection, figuring I'd trade a little power for the convenience, but it looks like they turned the dial a little too far towards convenience for this model. Oh, and the plastic build quality means it will likely break on you before you finish your chores.Whoever did the math to come up with the "up to 130 mph" force numbers must have fudged the numbers quite a bit. Unless you're only looking to push fine layers of dirt up into the air and let them settle on a nearby surface, this sweeper will leave you wanting for power. The first minute or two of use on a freshly-charged battery provides a moderate amount of oomph, but after that you're better off trying to catch a good gust of wind to move your leaf piles. In fact, at one pint I was trying to move some scattered leafy yard debris off a garden path and it wouldn't budge with the cold breath put out by this sweeper, so I figured the debris was too heavy -- then a light wind came in the other direction and moved the debris towards me -- and I definitely was not standing outside in a hurricane. This sweeper's output is seriously weak.Beyond it's poor performance, the actual unit's build quality is sub-par. The on-off switch gets stuck on mine after only a month of use -- I can't move it with my thumb anymore so I have to hit it down with something heavy to get it to turn on. It feels like the plastic shell pieces will break if you put it down rough or onto rocks.Maybe it has some indoor uses, but you could just use the blower port on a shop vac or wet/dry vacuum for that. I ended up upgrading to an electric plug-in model (Black & Decker BEBL7000 VACBACK) and I was much more satisfied with the performance, despite only being about $20 more expensive. If you do get the BEBL7000 instead, you will want to invest in some long extension cords, but the power trade-off for the convenience of a battery is simply not worth it.

A great sweeper
This product works exactly as it is supposed to. But it is important for you, the potential buyer, to know what it is supposed to do.It is a sweeper, not a leaf blower. What's the difference, you ask? With this sweeper, you'll be able to get the junk off of your (paved) driveway, and off of your (paved) patio. It is relatively light, it has good air movement, and it is relatively quiet. This object is a sweeper.A leaf blower will lift leaves (dry or wet) off of a lawn, and it will move a lot of leaves into a big pile (the sort of pile a 5 year old wants to jump into). And it will announce to the neighborhood that you are using a big, noisy machine. This object is NOT a leaf blower. It will move dry leaves off of a nice lawn, but the pile of leaves it can make is, frankly, pitiful. A 5 year old will have to be told that this is, in fact, a "pile" of leaves.I have a big, noisy leaf blower, which works great. It blows a lot of leaves - dry or wet. But it is super noisy, a bit heavy, and tethered to an AC outletI love my sweeper because it is light, it is cordless, it uses the same battery as my B&D drills, and it is not very noisy. A 4 year old can use it without hearing protection. The battery-ness is key: I can sweep the driveway; I can blow out the garage; I can even blow out my wood-working shop - without thinking about which extension cord, which outlet to use, and where my dang hearing protection is.
