Garbage Needles - Don't Buy!
DO NOT BUY THIS EXPECTING A QUALITY PRODUCT.I am a tambour embroidery beginner, but not a needle craft beginner in general. I know generally what does and doesn't feel right as far as a needle's interaction with threads and fabrics, and these needles in particular are absolute trash. They aren't polished/pointy enough, so they snag your fabric causing holes and tears (I'm very thankful I was working on trash starter fabric and not using this to dive into an already existing project or anything) but the inner part of the hook that is meant to catch your thread is also rough and jagged, so it causes your thread to tear very quickly. I tried multiple thread types, too, but it made no difference. This appears to be the case with other reviewers as well.Additionally, most of the tambour kits on Amazon seem to be this same product - I'm not sure if this is just a trash dropshipped set or what, but skip the headache. Spend a little bit of extra money and just go to Etsy.

DO NOT buy these for Tambourine Embroidery! They are terrible!
I got these today and they are terrible for tambourine embroidery. The needle is not pointy at all, the hook is flat and there is friction between the spacing of the needle and the hook causing a lot of snagging of the thread and the fabric. DO NOT BUY.

Don't buy
Do not waste your money. The gold ferules are not attached to the shaft; two slipped off as I was trying to use them. They are supposed to be permanently attached. Some tutorials recommend using certain sizes of needles; however, the ones furnished are not labeled for size. When I bought these, I thought I'd try this tambour embroidery to see if I liked it. With tools that fell apart and my beginner stitching attempts, I didn't know. I did know I was frustrated and puzzled. I looked at the other tambour packages on Amazon, but I believe they are all the same, just sold by different companies. I am still searching for well-made tools. I believe I'll have to look overseas where tambour embroidery is frequently practiced. There may be a USA source, I just haven't found one.

DON’T BUY
I’m an absolute beginner and struggled for days thinking it was my thread and how hard I was pulling that was the issue when turns out these needles are just made terribly. I didn’t realize until I read another review on here comparing these to what they’re actually supposed to look like. But the inside of the hook part is rough and narrow causing any thread I used to break after a few stitches. Definitely don’t recommend buying these.

Good construction
Haven’t used them yet but the construction and feel of the materials is really good. If there is a problem, I’ll contact the company first, before you’ll see it here.

Not worth the money
I had to glue the brass portion to the wood as they were loose when I opened the package. The hooks have barbs on them that are not supposed to be on them causing the hooks to shred the thread and grabs hold of the thread and will not let go.
