Good hiker for the money
Did several miles at falls creek falls and Burgess fall and window cliffs in Tennessee. Very rough terrain. Crossed several streams. Boots performed great. Very good waterproof, rugged, comfortable design. I did replace factory insoles but I do that on all my shoes. Had tremendous grip except on wet rocks in the streams. Thats why 4 star not 5.

Too heavy. Returned.Update-the company contacted me about the boots. They offered to send me a replacement pair of shoes. I ordered a pair of water shoes and when they arrived they were perfect. I did get a refund for the boots. Great customer service

Typical inexpensive hiker
Bought these for the combination of price and aesthetic. I prefer brown leather boots/shoes that I can wear with khakis at work or cargo shorts in my free time. These fit that bill. I also like the speed lace lugs that are at the top two positions of the lace pattern. That said, the lace lugs feel as if they're snagging the laces, almost like the openings are sharp and not filed down smoothly enough. I go to tug on the laces, and I feel like I'm having to overcome more friction than I should be (as if the lugs are 90-degree corners instead of smoothed curves). I'm concerned the laces won't last. Also, fully laced, the laces are a couple of inches shorter than I prefer. I've tried lacing them a different way to get a few more inches and that seems to work, but I don't like lacing them this way.I ordered a size 10.5 wide if it was available, or a 10.5 if wide was not available ... I don't recall if this was the boot that was wide or not. Regardless, the shoe fits, but it's a little bit on the small side. I've never needed an 11 and the one time in my life I bought an 11 because it was the closest fitting size the store had, it was too large. So I know my size, and it's 10.5, and this pair of boots runs a little small. The sides rub on my toes just a little more than they should. I know that seems a small thing, but it will cause socks to wear holes in them sooner as well as cause foot issues in time if the shoe doesn't stretch out some to accommodate. They are not uncomfortable, but they're just not quite right.I'm not a fan of the construction. I prefer boots with Logger Heels and Goodyear Welt construction and boots made like these are made (with the soles merely cemented to the uppers) usually only last me about a year -- and are holey by then at that -- and are not repairable. I also don't get the point of the "protective" rubber toe on the front. It just looks out of place and serves little purpose, but that's an aesthetics choice I guess.Overall, they're not ugly, but they're not impressive. They are inexpensive, however, which was a key requirement, and for that I'll see how long they last. I bought another pair of another brand at the same time so maybe between the two pairs I'll be able to keep my feet covered for a while.UPDATE 2022-07-27:I've decided to return these shoes. I wrote them two or three days, and on the last day my arch was aching. A day or two in my other pair and my feet were fine. After a few days wearing the other shoes, I put these back on, and my arch was aching before I even bent over to tie the laces. Decided to return these shoes. I need some jogging sneakers instead anyway.

Nortiv hiking shoes
Really good shoes for a good price. If they weren't made in China I would have gave them that fifth star.

great quality,bargain price!
Waited a few weeks from buying to reviewing so I could give them a half decent trial..Comfort and fit- straight from the box comfy, had no issues with needing breaking in so thats a bonus. Take a normal fit size 9 and had absolutely no issues with width/shape or heel.Quality-for a bargain price boot(and a sale offer which was a bonus after they sat in my basket for a few days prior to buying), these are brilliant. Solid build, nice and robust feeling sole and tread, not scrimped with the leather at all. Nice looking boot.Tests- have done a few miles now across a variety of surfaces, absolute happy face! Comfortable on tarmac/pavements both wet and dry. Good on the beach and across the rocks on the east coast of Yorkshire and I purposefully walked through ankle deep sea/rockpools more than a few times to test the water resistance-and stomped away with dry socks. The rough dirt tracks and grass hills of the Cleveland Way offered no issues at all and there was no water access after wakling across a dew soaked grass playing field for a good half hour.No heavier than some other big name brands leather boots either..Conclusion...for the price, these are a steal-first time buying the brand and I can safely say I wouldn't hesitate to buy again-more than happy with them in all counts.

Ouch!
My last pair Nortiv 8 boots lasted 11 months with two daily dog walks. For the money they owed me nothing. Even the lases lasted the life of the boots. The lates pair I bought are part leather and felt a cosier fit than my last pair. Wore them for 4 days without issue then on the 5th day the back of my right leg above the ankle was rubbed sore. It only happened once and now fine. But the left boot caused me more trouble and a great deal of foot pain more recently, pinching my extensor tendons. Taken a week to recover. Feels like the instep is too small. Will try again with looser lases as the boots are good value and I doubt a £100 plus pair would last any longer. UPDATE After wearing daily for 1 month the boots are very comfy the lases have given up the ghost, ruined by the metal eyes on the boots. Went within a day of each other.

Otherwise a good boot
Very sturdy boot. The minus stars are for the support at the back of the leg, which is far too rigid and annoyingly rubs against the leg even with thicker socks. Because of the rigid support, I would not purchase again.

OK walking boots out of the box
This is an out of the box review. Time and use will tell how they shape up. I bought these as they were in a limited time deal with a good discount, and means they appear good value for money. I bought the black boots which appear to be a sort of Nubuck leather. Another reviewer said they look horrible boots; they aren't, they look OK to me, just like any other walking boots.Good Points- uppers appear well made, stitching OK and soles attachment to uppers look sound- comfortable to wear, probably no breaking in requiredNeutral Points- I had UK size 9 which might be slightly large compared to other boots I have, but will allow for my feet to 'grow' when out walking; likely next size down would have been too small- soles are softish rubber, so may wear out quicker than I would like, time will tell- lace eyelet spacing quite wide, but I am sure I will get used to it'Not so Sure' Points- laces look a bit suspect, time will tell- top eyelets for laces had some sharp edges which needed filing- rubber toe guard a bit thin and flexibleAnyway I have given them two applications of waterproofing wax, and filed the eyelets and been out for a one mile walk in them and they appear fine.If they give me good service considering the price I have paid compared to boots at twice the price or more, and are reasonably waterproof I will be pleased. As I have said, time will tell.

Very good boots
I liked the half sizing availability. Quality is also good for the reasonable price. Not sure about the waterproofing as have not tested yet but certainly look waterproof. Comfortable although tightening the laces is quite hard work.
