Had to spend a fair bit ot time making the flaps actually fit the cap - they tended to hang halfway below my ears, defeating the purpose of providing sun coverage. But the cap itself is just lovely - and I've gotten numerous complements on it when wearing. Plus its folding brim makes it look just as good when taken out of a backpack, bike bag or purse as when put in.I'd bought it for a trip to southern Africa - and ended up not using the flaps at all, rather just applied heavy sunscreen instead - not what I'd wanted to have to do. Had some snaps or velcro or hooks or something been provided along the sides over the ear portion, it would have been great.

This cap does an excellent job of protecting the head and neck areas. In high winds, the brim strap at the rear of the cap can be tightened as necessary to prevent the cap from blowing off. The visor is foldable which is an asset and the cap can be stuffed in my back pocket without damage. Even though the instructions specify hand-washing, I machine washed the cap in a front loading washer many times with no damage to the cap!

I took this on an African safari back in June-July of this year. This Sun Guide Cap blocks out 95+ % of UV rays. Since I have Lupus I have to keep UV rays, which are always around even if it is cloudy or raining, off my skin. The side flaps and the visor did an excellent job of keeping the UV rays off my face without blocking the view of others that a wide brim hat would have done while riding in a jeep. The fabric is water repellent and stain resistant. I folds flat for packing.

I like this hat. it is great for hiking in very exposed places like open garnet or above tree line. The visor has good coverage. When you don't need it on you can fold the brim in half to make it fit in your pocket. The material is great. The rear shroud is removable. It washes well and does not shrink. I treated the shroud in Permetherin and it works great in Mosquito country. I am a hat snob and a gear snob so I am hard to please.

I have bought four of these caps so far. As an avid sailor I use the removable neck protector "skirt" when on the water. (I wish the caps floated a bit longer!) The absence of a button on the top of the cap is good when wearing a headset. The peak is deep which is great for sailing and flying. The foldable peak is a great feature as it allows the cap to fit easily in my pocket when inside. Not inexpensive but probably the finest all round lightweight ventilated cap available at any price.

I was at first pleased when I tried on the hat, until I tried to take the flap off to see what the hat looked like without it. The first snap I pulled on (not hard, just a normal unsnapping motion) and the whole snap pulled out of the hat. Needless to say, I was disappointed and decided right then to return the hat. Unless the company changes the snaps, I could not recommend this hat.

I've had this head gear for 5+ years. Well built, durable, extremely comfortable and protects perfectly. Still shows no sign of wear after wearing it nearly every day and numerous trips to the washing machine.

Wow! This cap is serious in keeping your head and neck protected from sun, heat, sweat and bugs. I like the adjustment strap. It makes it so easy to fit it on head. I love that if folds flat to put away in a pocket. I still find it a little bit fussy to attach the neck piece, but I am getting used to it. What it disappointed me though was how big and curved the visor is. At some points it bothers my visual field. I would prefer a shorter overhang, with a lower bend, like some marine caps for higher ranks.

Big head - fits perfectly. Usual problem with a large size cap is that the brim is too small for the rest of the cap and you look like you have a small beak and the sun gets past the corners and into your eyes. This fits great, keeps the sun out and breathes so you don't get sweaty. Brilliant!

The best hat I’ve ever purchased. My husband and I both use this while playing Pickleball outside in Mexico. Yes I snap it up and have complete sun protection. The top of the hat gets a tad hot... there are vents but they are not mean’t to stay open so I clip them together with a safety pin so that they do indeed stay open. Not a big deal. I’ve washed it a couple of times and it’s still like new... worth the price!

I have not had a chance to use it yet but I like the product upon arrival. Good material and functional for what I wanted.
