Lovely, sturdy book
I love this book, it’s interactive, which makes it more fun for young children. You pull the tabs to change the pictures in the window. The tabs also have fun pictures on them, which are double sided and relate to the story on both sides of the page, so leave them open and turn the page to see the pictures. It’s a sturdy board book and will withstand a fair amount of pulling and dropping. The colours are bright and the narrative is easy to follow.A really great book and will be a firm favourite.Hope you found my review helpful

Tabs and windows reveal changes in the weather
This board book from Ladybird is one of a series of non fiction discovery books for very young children. This one deals with weather, using sliding windows and tabs to reveal changes caused by wind, sun, rain, cold. The illustrations are cheerful and simple with basic text and plenty to talk about in the pictures. Nicely inclusive - featuring different ethnicities, child in a wheelchair etc in a very natural way.Our grand daughter (nearly 2) loved pulling the tabs and opening the windows, luckily it is sturdily made. But her VERY favourite thing was finding the ladybird on every page...sometimes you have to pull the tabs to reveal her. Our only minor quibble is that due to the restricted colour palette used in this book, the rainbow is red yellow pink and white: which even our little one knows is not correct!

So great - fun and educational
There is a real sweet spot in books for young children - their attention spans are so short that 'reading' in the traditional sense isn't really an option, yet it is so important to encourage them to enjoy books. Lift-the-flap and touchy feely books are a great option, because there is another form of interest to keep the little one turning the pages. This feels like a step on from that - the interest is in changing the weather by pulling the flap, but it is quite a bit harder to grip and pull the flap than it is to lift a flap. This book is also great because it will teach your little one about the weather, whilst being really fun.

Very pretty
The artwork is really beautiful. I think I get more enjoyment out of that than my little one. It teaches about the weather in a simplistic way. I like how the moving tabs show the changeabilitu of the weather. My little one would be more engaged if there were other bits like lift the flap that are easier to do. I feel it is a book for him to grow into. The main thing is that I still enjoy it despite all the repetition involved in reading it to him, so really pleased with that.
