Sobakawa Buckwheat Pillow Free Pillow Protective Cover-Standard Size-AS Seen On Tv, 15" x 19"

For over a month I've struggled with a pinched nerve or tweaked neck muscle which gave me a daily headache. Researching pillows on Amazon I found a suggestion for this one. I read the reviews and said 'this can't be true! relief in a single night?'... I received my pillow last night and slept on it one time (so far)... the BEST sleep of my life, NO neck pain, waking fully refreshed with easy motion including my back which surprised me. In fact, I was so impressed that first thing this morning I bought two more pillows - one for each son. I'm going to spare them decades of lost sleep! I am now firmly a believer! Regarding the comments on the 'crunchy' or 'strange' texture, that gave me no issues whatsoever. The pillow is heavy compared to foam pillows so it doesn't move around the bed. I found the support and stability allowed me to relax faster without out all that tossing and turning to find the best position. I'm guessing that is the reason my back felt rested also. Do yourself a favor... try it.. you'll love it.

I had forgotten about the Sobakawa as a pillow option until I happened to be in a hotel where there was one in my room. I had been looking for a better pillow to possibly ease neck/back strain. The hotel sobakawa was really comfortable to sleep on. The only difference is that the hotel pillow was actually regular down/fill on one side and buckwheat on the other side - so only 1/2 buckwheat. I think that made it a little softer and less harsh to sleep on. I bought the Sobakawa hoping for the same results but it has proven to be a bit too big/thick for me. I am on the petite side and if this pillow were a tiny bit flatter/smaller, it would be 100% great*. I know a lot of its lesser reviews were due to lack of size, but I think those were somewhat unfair. The concept behind it is very sound and it deserves every great review it gets. *I am not above slicing it open and customizing...

I love this pillow. I lived in Japan a long time ago, and I was set up with bedding--the pillow they gave me was a synthetic buckwheat type pillow (hard plastic fragments that feel just like buckwheat hulls inside a pillow). Anyway, this pillow provides great support (especially on a hard sleeping surface like tatami, floor, or a firm mattress).The pillow is sealed (the outer cover has a zipper but it's not possible to access the hulls filling inside the inner pillow). This isn't super important to me as the pillow isn't overfilled (some pillows overfill so that the customer can customize the amount of fill).Anyway, this was the best pillow purchase I ever made. the pillow type may not be for everybody, but it works for me!

I have arthritis in my neck and wake with headaches quite often. After going to chiropractor and doing exercises still have issues. I knew I needed something to help my neck and tried multiple pillows. Then I remembered this pillow from commercials many years ago and thought I’d try it.It’s not your normal fluffy pillow so once you get used to that idea and settle in you can adjust wherever you need more support and even though it’s filled with husks it’s firm but not hard and quite comfortable. I think I have had it for about 3 weeks and I have only woke with 3 headaches as opposed to one every single day. My brother has issues with his neck too so I have purchased one for him. Not sure how he likes it yet. It’s a decent price and I would recommend anyone to try it.

This pillow has changed my life. I had been in a few automobile accidents when I was younger and I work on computers all day long. I was having the worst neck aches for many years. Sleeping was horrible especially if I was stressed during the day. I used to sleep with no pillow for many years but then I started getting vertigo, which I swear was happening since I was sleeping flat. My chiropractor suggested I buy this pillow. I did a lot of research before buying it and I can tell you I was very apprehensive due to the reviews from people who had their pillows show up with bugs. All the research I did on this brand I was pretty confident that it would be big free and it was. Definitely pay the money for a good quality pillow. All of the reviews I read had talked about how everyone had no neck pain after the first night that they slept on the pillow, once again I was sceptical but I'm hear to tell you my neck pain went away with my first night sleep. I could not believe that I had actually slept the whole night and woke up with no pain. I swear by this pillow! It's the best for anyone who has neck issues.

I purchased this pillow years ago. In 2023, all the shells just fell out the pillow. These pillows are good for the neck.

I ran across buckwheat pillows during a recent trip to China and ordered one immediately so it would be waiting when I got back home. This is smaller than the one I had in the hotel, but that's actually better... great support and I don't move all over trying to adjust the pillow all night. It is 'noisy' when you first position yourself - but I find that I stay in that position most of the night. Also lets me sleep on my back, which is almost impossible on regular pillows. Good quality. Reviews of other brands with 'bugs' was a concern which let me to order from this company... and no problem at all... will order more for my rental units!

After reading all of the great reviews, Looking for a new pillow...I was excited to try this one. Unfortunately, I thought this pillow was like laying on a small bag of concrete mix. I understand that these are supposed to be firm and provide support to align your neck and spine. I used it for 4 nights and did not get used to it, and woke up about every hour or so because my ear was burning from being smashed against my head. I am returning it, because I cannot adjust to sleeping on such a hard surface. Maybe these are fine, if that's what you prefer. If you are used to sleeping on memory foam, gel, or even down pillows, I don't think this is a pillow that you can get used to. I'll just go back to the type that I know I can sleep on, not something that you have to adapt to.

I love this pillow! It has helped my chronic neck pain and I am no longer waking with a headache. My only complaint is the pillow case is too tight and squeezes the pillow too much so I just use a regular case.

went from snoring 2-6 hours a night to occasionally snoring for a minute or two the day I got this pillow, I don't sleep any better, but at least I don't snore anymore.

Have used a Sobakawa pillow for 15+years and always have a perfect sleep. I am happy with this new pillow and get the same good sleep. I rated it a four because of the size. I just purchased this one to have at a second property. I was very surprised at the size of the pillow when it arrived, it is really small. It is sold as a standard size pillow so I didn’t pay attention to the measurements assuming it would be an actual standard size and it is not. I find this very misleading and disappointing.

I’ve been using buckwheat pillows for years. This is just the right size for me. Like the protective cover.
