HW2175 Remote Controlled Plug, White

Wow, while this is a pretty simple product, it's totally made my life easier. I have a house with no ceiling light so all my lights are plug in and I have to physically plug them in to turn them on which is annoying with some of them behind furniture. This product I think is one of 2 in all of my online shopping that does what it does without wiring a light switch. The only other one I've found has a crazy bright blue light shining from it when on and that's not acceptable. So I went with this one. Works perfectly and I love that it has 4 bands you can use so I can buy 4 of these and all will work independent. The switch mounts easily with double sided tape and comes pre-installed with batteries. Install is about 52 seconds total.Extra notes, the rocker does not lock down or up but it does only turn on by pressing up and turn off by pressing down. You do need a screwdriver if you want to change the band its using. I bought 2 and the first one setup super quick and the second added on about 2 mins to unscrew to plate quick change the band (simple) and re attach.Love:- switch is a normal looking switch (very minimal depth even with double sided tape)- no blue light on the outlet side like the other product of it's kind- multiple bands so I can buy 4 of these and they all work independent (you can also have multiple switches control one outlet)Don't love as much:- one color (white matches mine but maybe not other people's, outlet is more almond)- outlet box would be nice to have an outlet on each side- wish I had found this sooner!

I was tired of always trying to find the string to my light fixture at night. This is my second one. The first one only lasted 3 years. I hope this lasts longer. It’s nice just turning on with a switch.

Two of the closets in my house have those awful light fixtures that are basically just a bulb hanging from the ceiling. Both of those fixtures are also barely attached to their boxes, making pulling the string a dangerous game. I bought one of these to try out on a closet I was redoing and holy cow I did not expect it to be as amazing as it is. "Installation" is as easy as replacing a lightbulb. And the fact that the actual switch can be screwed in OR attached with adhesive is great. Plus, it looks like it's a real wired switch, not just something you screwed into the wall. It's not a smart device, so there's no messing around with trying to get it connected to the internet or downloading a bunch of apps to find the right one. I'll definitely be purchasing another for the other closet when I get around to redoing that one.

Multiple reviews say the same thing. Works great, then buzzes and stops working. But honestly, it worked really well for almost 2 years. (Aug 2021-7/18/23)I do wish it had lasted longer but I really didn't expect it to.

This was perfect to get a switch placed in a room that previously only had a pull chain (so had to walk into a dark room and hunt the chain). It comes with adhesive to stick the switch to the wall, or slotted screws. This is not the same as the face plate screws. These are screws that require a little force to screw into the wall, even if predrilled. The flat head screwdriver or drill driver slips right out the side of the slot. Took about three times longer (and very frustrating) to install than if they would’ve included Phillips head screws. Otherwise they seem to have a pretty perfect product! Also, not sure it’s in the description, but the switch color is cream. Didn’t matter to me but might disappoint someone expecting white.

I purchased this to avoid running switch wiring during a basement remodel. Spend more money on a higher quality unit or run the wire and be done with it.Wireless switch needs to be very close. Receiver portion about 9’ off the floor, I could only place the switch portion about 2’ away horizontally.The actual switch itself is very poorly made. Battery hold down is very flimsy and barely holds the battery in place. Removal of the cover is very easy (2 screws), actually putting it back on and having the switch still work is another story. After approx 30 minutes I gave up and left it off. It was really very irritating And disappointing. I do not recommend.

We have an old house with pull chain lights in the closets. The chains keeps breaking off inside which requires replacing the whole fixture, every year or two. This product works like a charm. Since our pull chain broke with the light on this last time, it was simple to install this. If you can screw in a light bulb, you can install this product. If your pull chain breaks with the light off, you might have to replace the ceramic fixture before using this. I will be ordering another one for a room where the wall switch doesn't seem to be tied to any outlet in the room. Can't wait to be able to turn a light on with a wall switch instead of walking into a dark room to turn on a desk lamp. I only hope it continues to work since it is more expensive than the ceramic fixtures. Very happy with this and it was delivered quickly. I couldn't find this at any local hardware store.

It worked great for 2 years but the off button stopped working. I changed the batteries in the switch but the problem persisted.

Easy and cost effective. You can order multiple and combine outlets to one switch easily. Great product
