Prayer: Why Our Words to God Matter

This is sound, biblically- based teaching. One can sense Holy Spirit through while reading. I recommend for the spiritually mature, new believers, and everyone in between.

Although I have been praying since childhood (many, many decades ago!), I learned an incredible amount about effective prayer from this thoughtfully written and pretty thorough presentation of the subject. What I especially appreciated was the author's inclusion of the Scriptural passages from which he drew his observations and recommendations. Many of his insights are so simple, I am embarrassed to admit they hadn't really registered with me previously. For instance, when we pray for something to happen in our lives, it shows a lack of faith, and even distrust of God, to then think or say to others, "Yeah, I've been praying for _X_, but I don't know if it'll ever happen." Or, you have a prayer which has gone unanswered for a long, long time; but you fail to connect that divine "silence" with the deep-seated resentment you still hold toward your former spouse, or someone else. You may think you already know all that Russell has to say on prayer, but his Scripture-backed presentation shows you that this is for REAL, not just a Sunday School lesson.

Great book to engage a generation to prayer. From the voice of the prophet to the voice of the sweet Sunday school teacher, the voice of one given to prayer shakes Heaven.

One of the best books on prayer I've read. It's both practical and inspiring. I'll be frequently re reading through all my highlights. Many of the insights Corey Russell has are unique and you know come from the depths of his own personal knowledge of God. We all know how important prayer is, yet is the most prevalent issue which we hear the word but don't follow through with. This has been an amazing book. What are we all waiting on to not just read about prayer and fasting and do it? Never met Corey Russell but I believe my spirit bares witness to his because we have the same Spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the dead living inside. I am praying the Word, fasting weekly and praying in the night watches. Great material Mr. Russell! Indeed you are in touch with the heartbeat of God. Our prayers and worship are calling Him to return. Come on!!!!!!

I loved this book. if you want to be inspired to.live a life of prayer -- and we all should -- read this book.The book is well written, grounded in the Word and relevant to our daily lives. Prayer/intercession isn't for those who tested high in this category on a gift test. it is the call of every believer. Russell inspires us to take up this high calling with his own life experience as well as providing a solid Biblical foundation.

This book was suggested by my pastor. The title and part that he read was what drew me in, but the content was more than I ever expected. Great book. Will be reading this a few more times.

Love this book!! Can't put it down. I've read it over & over!! It's a must read!! It makes me see a different side to prayer & has so many scriptures in it to back everything up!! The book was in great condition as well!!

Lasst euch bitte nicht davon abschrecken, dass es dieses Buch noch nicht auf deutsch gibt - das Englisch ist gut verständlich das Buch zu exzellent, um dass man es in Deutschland ignorieren sollte. Wer eine Leidenschaft für Gebet und Fürbitte hat oder haben möchte, für den ist dieses Buch Pflichtlektüre.Ich empfehle auch sehr das Hörbuch dazu, das Corey selbst eingelesen hat.

This man who is continually sound the alarm in the church, has done it again! Corey's book will help you to reveal the heart of God, and how He feels about us. This book has taken me on a journey of much needed awakening and soul searching. My view of who God is has been totally changed and challenged. Thank you God for true messengers of the Gospel who are not willing to water down Your word that You have entrusted us with.Let us all take up our cross and follow JESUS' example, not another man's idea of what Christianity is.
