The Kindling Splitter

Just got done using this splitter for probably the 100th time. Works awesome, just as described. No more fat wood for me. You can split kindling in any size you want. If you try to split a log that is too big in an improper manner there is a chance you can bend the arm - but that will be your fault.I can't recommend this item enough and would buy it again in a second. Fantastic gift for anyone with a wood stove, fireplace, fire pit. There is no reason to buy more expensive splitters.As for the seller - excellent communication and support. He obviously cares about his product and stands by it.Buy this item with zero regrets!

It works but you need to have flat pieces of wood or it slips off the ledges that it rests on. Additionally like the other posters said it's cutting area is not long enough. Why the ledges are so short is beyond me. It's constantly falling off them. the only time it works well is with a flat surfaced log. Once you get the hang of it, it does work. If I were to make this product i would improve it by extending the ledge surface and extend the blade cutting surface.

I like the overall function. It would be better if either the ledges were deeper or if the sharpened section was about 2 to 3 inches longer.

This device is poorly designed and did not perform as advertised. The cleats are not large enough to secure the foot of the log, the blade of the splitting arm is too short and the arm is made of metal that is too soft. (Additionally, the device does not come with a manual; if there are secrets to its successful employment, they have not been revealed.) The whole assembly ought to be angled away from the mounting surface to enable the user to balance the wood while splitting; as designed, it requires the user to hold the wood in place with one hand while pressing down on the splitting arm with the other -- very awkward. The arm bent after only a few uses, and, though I wrote to the maker and requested a refund, I have not received a reply. I add that the maker did ship promptly. I am sorry that I can't recommend this device.

Worked just as advertised. Much less expensive than Plow and Hearth version even with shipping expense. Seller was prompt with notifications. Highly recommend the item and seller.

Works fantastic for chopping kindling as the name suggests. I'm pretty sure any negative review was people trying to chop wood with it. For kindling it's fast and saves my back being mounded chest high.

So fare after five 40 pound bags it works very well and save me much over the purchase of the Swedish cast one.

I got this for my husband. It won't split our wood at all, matter of fact it bent the handle slightly.
