Bloody Mary, Vol. 2 (2)

Yeah... This isn't any better.
I just don't feel for the characters or care what they are doing. Nothing in this story feels important. I wish I could care more about the plot but I don't. No manga should take this long to draw interest. At least add more BL!

Still Interesting
Bloody Mary Volume 1 was, admittedly, a confused jumble of ideas that were pretty hard to follow. With Volume 2, we're given more clarity about these guys who have female names (Maria, Mary), making the story start to make a lot more sense. I'm still not sure where mangaka Samamiya is going to take the plot after 8 chapters but this still does remain a beautifully drawn series.Story: Maria is blissfully unaware that his best friend Takumi harbors an immortal in his basement - an immortal vampire hunter claiming to be Maria's grandfather. When Takumi is ordered to bring Bloody Mary in to his laboratory, Maria isn't going to forgive him that betrayal, And he'll bring his own army of vampires to free Mary from his grandfather's torture.Takumi is being set up to be a tragic character - with no free will under the command of Isaac and hopelessly entangled with the Di Maria family for generations. He had the most interest arc (and certainly was the main character) in this Volume. Isaac is shaping up to be the villain of the piece, tormenting all three characters from his immortal madness. This is looking to have a lot of the angst of the latter arc of Vampire Knight. I'm curious to see where it will go from here. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Quite good
~3.5/5This series isn’t really sticking out in my memory, but I am enjoying it.This volume, we found out more about who Mary might be and what is being kept secret from Maria. There’s still a lot of questions regarding Mary’s past, since he doesn’t even remember it, and some people in Maria’s family blame Mary for a death that Mary doesn’t have any memory of committing. And while Mary is dealing with the accusation of that, Maria is trying to figure out what his family is hiding, what his ancestors did, and figuring out who he can trust.I like the artwork in this series, and I think that Mary is quite adorable. I like his growing relationship with Maria, too, how they have formed a pact of sorts. I also find the side characters interesting, like the vampires that Maria has formed odd relationships with, and Takumi.I am enjoying this series, and will continue reading, I just hope that it gets better soon.A review copy was provided by the publisher, VIZ Media, for an honest review. Thank you so, so much![More of my reviews are available on my blog, Geeky Reading, to which there's a link on my profile.]

Second instalment of vampire hunter duo
Ichiro discovers the dark past behind his vampire-hunter lineage, and it begins with his Father's death. After stealing the cross amulet from his father's nightstand, Ichiro schemes that Bloody may be the murderer. It's a suspenseful sequel from the first book, and the drawings of the characters are well laid out. I'm looking forward to the next volume
