We have different definitions for "Renewed"
Overall I'm happy with this. My definition of "renewed" for a computer means it's been opened up, inspected, dust and dirt removed, cleaned, tested. I had reason to open this and I doubt it was opened. It still had a lot of dust in the fan. It works though. It's very quiet until you really make it work.Bigger issue, after the installed Windows 10 was activated, it posted MANY warnings about viruses on the machine. Glad I hadn't installed the included wifi adapter with which Windows could have connected to my home network and possibly wreaked havoc.I ended up booting this with a Linux flash drive. Machine runs well. It's fast enough to play 4K 60fps video with just a very minor amount of stutter. I haven't bothered running an anti-virus on the installed M.2 drive yet. I don't use Windows much so I don't really need it. I'll get to it eventually though. The 3mm headphone port on the front is flaky. I have to pull out and push in the plug every time I boot it.Fan did start winding up when playing the 4K 60fps videos. Fan doesn't get annoying when it's on. I really like the compact size. For the money it's just about an unbeatable deal. I will put a one terabyte drive in this once I've run it a while and have tested it thoroughly.(ETA: 5/2/2024) Reinstalled the M.2 drive that came with this. Neither Microsoft Defender nor Avast anti-virus could remove whatever was on it. It was almost like any ability of these two programs to do anything was stopped. I pulled the drive and snapped in. No one needs that kind of issues. Scary stuff.

Exceptional Value
Since Amazon cycles through multiple refurbished computer vendors, this review is for one from RefurbTechnologies. The computer arrived undamaged and very clean. It works well out of the box. They included handy adapters for video and Wi-Fi, which was a nice touch. It's a great value to get a business-class computer at a deeply discounted price.

Great product but buyer beware...
Product came quickly and decently packaged with no damage and with specs as described.Logged into Windows which was preinstalled in local mode and Windows defender lit up with at least 50 replicating viruses and continued to find more.Highly recommend a full drive wipe and Windows reinstall on any refurbished devices as they don't seem to do check to the drive beforehand.

Great little mini PC
I bought this to use for a small Home Assistant install so I haven't tested Windows on it at all. There's a lot to like about this little PC. Its got a slightly smaller footprint than a Mac Mini but isn't as tall. There's a good amount of connectivity - a USB-C and USB-A (SuperSpeed) on the front bezel, four USB-A ports on the back - two of which are also SuperSpeed, and two displayport ports. Depending on how these were configured when they were built by HP or modified by the companies that bought them there may be a third DP port in the expansion socket. You might luck out and get a HDMI output, or you might get one with a VGA port. There's some variation in what you'll get when you purchase this. I bought two and one came with an internal Intel wifi/bluetooth card as well as a Haysenser USB wifi/bluetooth 5 adapter. The second one that I bought (which ended up being defective) came without the internal Wifi adapter but with the same Haysenser adapter as well as a keyboard and mouse. These little HP Elitedesk 800 desktop minis were designed to be modular so you can piece together a system that has almost whatever you want inside it. There are two internal M.2 SSD slots, plus HP also made a SATA drive sled, dedicated GPU (which then requires you to use a M.2 SSD for space reasons), upgrade to 64GB of RAM inexpensively, and even run a 9th generation Intel i9 processor, provided that you have a 65W power supply (or better) and HPs copper heatsink and fan. Like I mentioned before, there's an expansion slot that you can use to add HDMI, Displayport, and VGA outputs as well as one that adds an additional USB-C port. Most importantly this system is quiet. There's one fan that draws air into the heatsink and I can only hear it with my ear pressed up against the top case.
