CodaBowDiamond NX Violin Bow – Carbon Fiber, Balanced Performance

I received this bow today and can't be more pleased. The sound is warm and powerful, even more than my pernambuco bows. The wheight is perfect and it is well balanced. Fully recommended.

Love this bow, looks nice and even plays better. Cuts down on some of my Squeaking lol. But all that sead the bow fills grate, it's well balanced and I'm planing to move to Alaska soon so won't have to worry about this bow all that much.

I have always been skeptical of carbon fiber bows, but couldn't pass on giving this a try at such a reasonable price. I am very satisfied with the overall response of the bow, its even weight distribution allows for a consistent and smooth sound. However, I find that more subtle gestures are not as easily produced with this bow as with my more traditional wood bows. The overall feel is that the sound can be a bit harsh. Perhaps I am just not used to this, will try it out for a few months and see how it goes. I don't believe a similar wood bow can be purchased at the same price.

The Bow is the best bow I have ever used.How it sounds and how you control the bow and playing some techniques is easier with this one.What I didn't like is the leather where you place your thumb near the frog is losing its shape by time.I USED IT FOR ALMOST ONE YEAR NOW.

Having been through the step up process in bows, I highly recommend skipping the conventional wisdom of up the step up at a time process. Once committed to violin study get the best bow you can afford. I went through conventional process and realized that in the end I would spend more money and have a ton of bows that I would be unhappy with. This not my best bow, but a very good back-up. For someone in the market for a next bow after their fist or second, this is a good choice. It is weighted toward the tip and lends itself to using the full bow a little easier. The bow will do well in a performance setting. If one can afford more, I would move up the line to the sx or gx. Arcus makes fine bows, but the CODA NX is relatively comparable to the Arcus intro and several hundred less dollars.
