As an LVT and professor I love to have this at my finger tips to look up TCM and other homeopathic treatments that people ask me about. Very well written and informative.

Manual is manual and as such it serves as a fast guide of consultation.
All that that acts in the area of veterinary natural medicine needs a fast guide of consultation, of the type Five Minutes. This manual serves very well for a first consultation and to guide the first treatment mainly by the use of Chinese and western herbs, diet, acupuncture and other therapies. Therefore, it is an indispensable book to every veterinary naturopata. And the index is of easy consultation and very complete, still containing the appendixes, very useful and practical.I recommend a lot of this book.

good so far
I honestly have not read much of it yet. I am only going through the intro, but I am finding it interesting. The only thing that has put me off so far is that they put in new chinese terms without defining them. I guess it is not important to know what they all mean, but I feel weird not knowing. It talks about upper, middle and lower burners and then talks about upper, middle and lower jiao. And I am guessing jiao means burner, but I would feel better if they stated that.

Useful for Health Care Professionals to Use at Home
You need some health care education to understand this book. It is not for the average person unless you want to do a lot of self-educating.

Help Your Pet at Home
Written by two holistic vets, the Manual covers different treatment options for an impressive number of illnesses and health issues. You'll find diet, supplements, Western herbs, Chinese herbs, acupuncture, and sometimes essential oils. There's even an "Author's Choice" section for each illness, so that if you're wondering which of various options to choose, both the vets list their recommendations. The book is beautifully organized, fitting a tremendous amount of material into a small format. Chapters include muscular/skeletal disorders; dermatological disorders; infectious diseases; immunologic disorders; endocrinologic disorders, etc. The illnesses are laid out alphabetically, with easy-to-see treatment options. Sidebars describe case reports with excellent Discussion, Treatment and Outcome sections. At first I wondered whether the book would be too technical for me. But as I read along, I was really impressed by the non-technical language, the thoroughness of the symptoms and treatments, and the book's excellent organization. Only the Chinese herbs sections are not accessible if you don't know traditional Chinese medicine, and this problem is addressed in an appendix with explanations of the uses and western names of the Chinese herbs.Other appendices are helpful, too: "suggested oral dosages for herbs"; "suppliers" of herbs for easy ordering, and even a chart with acupuncture points. (If you know acupressure, you can use these points without needles.) For anyone doing chemo for cancer dogs, you'll get help here in figuring out a supportive herbal and supplement protocol. A fantastic book!

Good job
This is a wonderful text on complementary medical therapies for pets. A superb introduction to herbal medicine and understanding Traditional Chinese Medicine. I highly recommend it and as a fellow holistic veterinarian and author (8 Weeks to a Healthy Dog, The Allergy Solution for Dogs, and the award-winning The Natural Health Bible for Dogs & Cats,) I found the information quite useful.[...]

Libro completo
Ottimo libro in cui sono spiegati sia l'utilizzo delle erbe che di altre medicine alternative. Molto utile uno schema nella parte finale del libro con dosi di estratti e tinture madri

Mostly for TCM Practitioners
I expected more of a herbal medicine resource, but this book is really heavy into the Traditional Chinese Medicine modality. I’m not too pleased.
