I wanted to like these more than I did...
I think my expectations were too high on this one. I love hazelnut and am a sucker for whipped cream. So I was all about buying these. So here’s the good: they are totally snackable sweet & crunchy little ‘cookie’ type things. The texture kind of reminds me of cream wafers. Just a lot of crunch with whipped stuff in the middle. They are quite rich and sweet so one or two will probably do you just fine in one sitting. I can see these as the perfect compliment for coffee and especially tea—if you are English & have tea everyday or have company often these would be *perfect* to give someone alongside their drink. They’re super cute, and absolutely look like the image. They were fresh and came intact with no quality issues. The downsides: they are very small little things. Since they are so sweet I didn’t have a problem with how small they are. I can’t see someone eating all of them in one sitting but I’m sure there are some who would. With the size in mind, I also thought the price is a little steep for what you’re getting but it’s not overwhelming. Just a touch high. Mine took the trip from England, I believe, so order them with some time to spare if you need them right away. With that said, mine came much sooner than expected-a little over a week from the UK to the upper Midwest. And finally, the taste. My expectations were super high bc it sounded like everything I wanted: crunchy with a whipped inside. Creamy & a nice touch of hazelnut. My issue was with the shire chocolate that they dip the bottom half of the hippo & it’s then rolled in tiny little pieces of crushed hazelnuts which gives it a nice texture. The white chocolate, however, seems to throw off the taste for me and ruin it for me. If it didn’t have the white chocolate I would consider this pretty darn perfect. It would be good with regular chocolate as well but the white chocolate just ruins it. It makes it too sweet & it just doesn’t taste how I expected it to. It throws off the flavor in the whole thing. It’s still edible and still tastes GOOD & is a fun little treat-but it’s not *amazing*

Amazing! These are so good!
These have been one of my favorite treats since I found them. They are so good! I'm glad I found them in bulk for a reasonable price and I like how they are individually wrapped.

A Happy Hippo for a Happy Hippie from the 1960's
Wow who knew? My son works in Palo Alto,Ca. and was getting coffee and seen these on the counter and bought one for about $1.50 he liked it so much he bought them again when buying coffee so one day he bought the box of 5 pieces and shared one with me. It's funny because he only had one every Friday for a it's the start of the weekend treat. He didn't know that I took a photo of the box went on Amazon and found out they are made in the United Kingdom and yes Amazon will ship to your home and I bought a case of 10 boxes they took about two weeks to get here and they arrived 95% unbroken (I'm fine with that) I didn't complain I didn't call either, That 5% was mine. These little treats are excellent and well worth the cost and wait. I store them in my refrigerator they have a expectation date on them 09/02/2017 the complexity of such a treat with the shape of a hippo with cocoa and cream inside and detailed outside. Word got out and I see both my Sons more often (lol) with grandchildren in hand Grandpa got treats. My Sons and I see each other weekly, what's nice is handing down a tradition to my Sons and grandchildren treats for when they arrive something that started with my Great grandmother When I visited her in Oakland Ca. In the 1960's back then it was work in the garden lunch at noon and 25 cents for a days work with a home made cookie. These fall into the category of a old time treat. If you're in the market for a interesting very high quality treat you won't be disappointed with these Kinder Happy Hippo Biscuits made in the United Kingdom.

Delicious, hard-to-find treat in Canada
I've always loved Kinder chocolates but have only found these hippo treats once in Canada, as a Christmas seasonal treat at Walmart (and stock was limited there). They are SO delicious so I thought to track them down online. Bought both flavours and they are both excellent. Still fresh, not past the due date and shipping was very fast, although you should be aware that duties may be collected. Very happy with my purchase and the seller. Would order again.
