Excellent Litter (with one caveat)
I have been using this off and on for 8 years or so (sometimes buying Feline Pine when I couldn't find this). All things considered, I prefer this litter to any other, including the Feline Pine. I prefer it to clay because it is almost dust-free and (I believe) much more environmentally-friendly. I prefer it to Pine because I sometimes find the pine odor overpowering, especially when mingled with the scent of cat urine. Yesterday's News has a much more mild scent. The pellets of Yesterday's News also seem to absorb better and disintegrate more slowly than the Pine pellets (when I used Pine, it would seem like the litter turned to sawdust after a couple good uses). I prefer it to Swheat Scoop because there is significantly less tracking. Swheat Scoop clumps, which is a feature that some people may like, but I find it messier (leading to little urine-litter cakes forming on the bottom of the cat pan). The only potential negative is that it may be difficult for some people to remove the cat urine without changing the entire box. This is crucial if, like me, you are blessed with a cat who won't go unless the box is pristine (we actually have two boxes side-by-side, and he often urinates in one and then jumps in the other immediately to defaecate--but that's the downside of having a neurotically clean animal). My method is to look for the wet spots where the pellets have started to degrade and simple use a non-slotted scoop to remove these. Then I mist the box with Nature's Miracle to keep odor down. The problem was when I had a friend watch the cat, she could not see where the litter was wet and consequently didn't remove the urine frequently enough. The cat peed on the floor. I was unhappy. The current price on Amazon ($14.99 with free shipping) is pretty good.

Awesome for older cats, no more stinky cat litter smell!
My 16 year old cat had some health issues and I noticed she was sneezing. After some reading I decided to try switching her cat litter to see if indeed the cat litter dust was causing the sneezing. Sure enough right after I switched her cat litter the sneezing stopped.I also had moved her cat litter box to my bathroom while she was recovering from surgery and the cat box smell was making me nuts. I changed her previous cat litter everyday, scrubbed her cat litter box out every other day and could not get that cat litter box smell to go away. Even put deodorizers all around it. After I switched to this cat litter, that stinky cat box smell was gone! So what I do is put down a cat litter box liner, put approximately 1" of this litter in and change out all the litter about every 3-5 days. Works really well for us. The pellets swell up when they are wet, but I found it kinda difficult to scope out just the swelled up pellets.Another great thing is I no longer have cat litter all around the litter box and no longer have to use cat litter mats (that never really worked for us anyways). Sometimes a few pellets find their way out of the litter box, but it's so few and sooo much easier to clean up.My cat had no difficulty transitioning to this cat litter. I just started using it one day and she has been just fine.

I scoop the solid waste as soon as I see it and you can ...
This was my first time using paper pellet litter and I definitely prefer this. It's cheaper and lasts longer than regular clay clumping litter. I put only a little in the box, enough to cover the bottom. I scoop the solid waste as soon as I see it and you can flush it safely even it all the pellets aren't filtered out. It smells after about 3/4 days and I discard everything in the box. There is some tracking but it doesn't go as far and no dust.

Favorite Kitty Litter
This is my favorite kitty litter, easy to clean up spills and better for the pets than the fine dust kind. Odor control is great but last a little shorter time than some other brands. However for the benefits to you and your pet just change it a day earlier (if required).I would have given it 5 stars but I took one off for the delivery. Next time I will wait for a bargain on the smaller bags. The litter was in a bag in a box typical Amazon fashion but the weight of the bag and rough courier handling caused the bag to split in the box and begin leaking out of the amazon packaging before it even arrived.Maintenance:You would not flush all of this as it is paper and would swell in the pipes and cause a major blockage. It is far better to use bin liners and throw it out and replace. However I disagree with some who say you can not scoop it. I scoop the poop fine and flush it with the tiny amount of litter that gets caught in the scoop. This has never caused a problem or blockage in 10 years of use, just don't over scoop. It is pellet form so is easy to vacuum and means no more fine sharp dust trails on your floor or in your cats paws. I don't know about other pet types but my cats have all loved it over the years

Great!!
This is the better price than the 30 lb bag. I didn't notice a scent and it hadn't bothered my cats (cared more about the price than scent). We were using 2 of the mechanical boxes for a while (for 3 cats) but they are a pain to clean and empty and the dust gets everywhere. Now we just need one box with a liner and this litter. I love that it doesn't stick to their feet like regular litter, so seems cleaner and not dusty and feeling gross when cleaning the box. It is pricier than clumping litter as we dump out the box every 2-3 days (3 cats) but the ease of it (and the fact yhat it is way less gross overall) makes it worth it to us. I like that it is recycling paper too. There is some scatter on the floor by the box but that is going to happen no matter what and the pellets are less gross to me (and less/easier to clean) than the dust of regular litter. There is also no to hardly any smell which was my main concern with 3 cats and a nonclumping litter!

Probably only good for people with allergies who hate the silica litter dust.
It's fine as litter, has obvious issues given how it is supposed to work when compared to standard silica-based clumping litter. If you're curious as to how this works, it's compacted old newspaper, wood shavings and some other stuff. Using adds a lot more overhead, as you do the opposite of what you normally would with clumping litter. Here, when the sticks absorb water, they expand and kind-of dissolve into a more powdered shaving. That shaving is what you have to remove, so you have to take all the good litter out, remove the powder and then put it back in, cleaning the box with water and mild detergent. That can be acceptable for someone with allergies and breathing issues but for most is probably just going to be annoying. Also, the odour absorption is terrible. Only get into this kind of litter if you know how it works, its expensive as a "let's try something different".

Vet recommended, Zero trace, eco-friendly litter with no harsh chemicals
We switched to this litter after our vet recommended us to use this because our 2.5 yr old older male cat had developed infection in his front paw pads. Since this litter has no harmful chemicals and leaves behind next to no trace after our cats step out of the litter box, we have now started using this religiously. The litter pellets are basically made of recycled pellets. Initially, our younger 4 month old kitten would play & try to chew on the pellets, when we switched both our cats from clay based litter (which we used earlier), but eventually they both started using this without hassle.Usage - the poop needs to be sifted out with scooper, the pee gets absorbed by the pellets which swell up and disintegrate. Easier to clean with scooper that have no holes.

Good General Cat Litter
I use this litter because I don't like the clay litters available - my cats seem to track it all the way into my bed. This litter has large pellets and will not usually track far from the litter box. It does NOT clump and does require you to scoop regularly to get rid of solid waste. The pellets absorb urine quite well, but does not mask odor well.If you want a clumping wood / paper pellet I'd recommend using Cature's Natural Clumping Litter, however it is fairly expensive compared to this option. All said, I don't mind scooping and do change my cat's two litter boxes regularly so I have no issues.
